Claims
- 1. An axle driving unit comprising:
- a housing including at least two housing parts joined with each other along a joining surface;
- an axle disposed within said housing;
- a speed change transmission disposed within said housing, wherein said speed change transmission comprises a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor fluidly connected to each other through a center section shaped as a flat plate, wherein said center section is substantially vertically centered within said housing and is disposed substantially parallel to said joining surface of said at least two housing parts;
- an input shaft connected to said hydraulic pump, said input shaft disposed substantially perpendicular to said axle and projecting outwardly from said housing;
- an output shaft connected to said hydraulic motor, said output shaft disposed substantially parallel to said input shaft;
- a counter shaft for transmitting power from said output shaft to said axle, disposed substantially perpendicular to said output shaft and substantially parallel to said axle within said housing; and
- a gear train connecting said output shaft to said axle, fixedly or rotatably mounted on said counter shaft, wherein said gear train is disposed opposite said hydraulic motor with respect to said center section.
- 2. An axle driving unit according to claim 1, further comprising:
- a pump mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic pump thereon formed on said center section, wherein said pump mounting surface is disposed substantially perpendicular to said input shaft; and
- a motor mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic motor thereon formed on said center section, wherein said motor mounting surface is disposed substantially perpendicular to said output shaft.
- 3. An axle driving unit according to claim 2, wherein said pump mounting surface and said motor mounting surface are formed on the same side of said center section.
- 4. An axle driving unit according to claim 2, wherein said pump mounting surface and said motor mounting surface are formed on opposite sides of said center section.
- 5. An axle driving unit according to claim 1, wherein said housing comprises a region extending substantially perpendicular to said axle, and said speed changing transmission is disposed within said region.
- 6. An axle driving unit according to claim 5, wherein said hydraulic pump is spaced apart from said axle, and said hydraulic motor is disposed in proximity to said axle.
- 7. An axle driving unit for use on a body frame of a vehicle having first and second driving wheels, comprising:
- a housing including at least two housing parts joined with each other along joining surfaces of said housing parts, said housing being disposed on said body frame between said first and second driving wheels;
- a first axle for mounting said first driving wheel thereon substantially horizontally disposed within said housing;
- a second axle for mounting said second driving wheel thereon substantially horizontally supported between said at least two housing parts;
- a differential gear unit differentially connected to base ends of said axle disposed within said housing;
- a speed change transmission disposed within said housing, wherein said speed change transmission comprises a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor and a center section fluidly connecting said hydraulic pump and said hydraulic motor to each other, wherein said center section is shaped like a flat plate, is substantially vertically centered within said housing and is disposed substantially parallel to said joining surfaces of said housing parts;
- an input shaft connected to said hydraulic pump, said input shaft disposed substantially vertically and projecting outwardly from said housing;
- an output shaft connected to said hydraulic motor, said output shaft disposed substantially vertically;
- a counter shaft for transmitting power from said output shaft to said differential gear unit disposed substantially perpendicular to said output shaft and substantially horizontally within said housing; and
- a gear train connecting said output shaft to said differential gear unit through said counter shaft, said gear train being disposed opposite to said hydraulic motor with respect to said center section.
- 8. An axle driving unit for use on a body frame of a vehicle having first and second driving wheels according to claim 7, further comprising:
- a pump mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic pump thereon formed on said center section to be substantially horizontal; and
- a motor mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic motor thereon formed on said center section to be substantially horizontal.
- 9. An axle driving unit for use on a body frame of a vehicle having first and second driving wheels according to claim 8, wherein both of said pump mounting surface and said motor mounting surface are formed on an upper surface of said center section.
- 10. An axle driving unit for use on a body frame of a vehicle having first and second driving wheels according to claim 8, wherein said housing comprises a region extending substantially perpendicular to said first and second axles, and said speed changing transmission is disposed within said region.
- 11. An axle driving unit for use on a body frame of a vehicle having first and second driving wheels according to claim 10, wherein said hydraulic pump is spaced apart from said first and second axles, and said hydraulic motor is disposed in proximity to said axles.
- 12. An axle driving unit, comprising:
- a housing including at least two housing parts joined with each other along a joining surface;
- an axle disposed within said housing;
- a speed change transmission for driving said axle disposed within said housing, wherein said speed change transmission comprises a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor and a center section fluidly connecting said hydraulic pump and said hydraulic motor to each other, wherein said center section is formed as a flat plate, is substantially vertically centered within said housing, and is disposed substantially parallel to said joining surface;
- an input shaft connected to said hydraulic pump, said input shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section and projecting outwardly from said housing;
- an output shaft connected to said hydraulic motor, said output shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section and drivingly connected to said axle; and
- a gear train connecting said output shaft to said axle, said gear train being disposed opposite to said hydraulic motor with respect to said center section.
- 13. An axle driving unit according to claim 12, further comprising:
- a pump mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic pump thereon formed on said center section to be substantially horizontal; and
- a motor mounting surface for mounting said hydraulic motor thereon formed on said center section to be substantially horizontal,
- wherein said hydraulic pump is spaced apart from said axle, and said hydraulic motor is disposed in proximity to said axle.
- 14. An axle driving unit according to claim 13, wherein both of said pump mounting surface and said motor mounting surface are formed on an upper surface of said center section.
- 15. An axle driving unit according to claim 13, wherein said housing comprises a region extending substantially perpendicular to said axle, and said center section is disposed within said region.
- 16. An axle driving unit according to claim 15, wherein said center section is mounted on one of said housing parts.
- 17. An axle driving unit according to claim 12, further comprising:
- a counter shaft disposed substantially perpendicular to said output shaft and substantially parallel to said axle, wherein said counter shaft is disposed on one side of said center section and said hydraulic motor is disposed on an opposite side of said center section; and
- said gear train for transmitting power from said output shaft to said axle, fixedly or rotatably mounted on said counter shaft.
- 18. An axle driving unit according to claim 17, wherein two housing parts are dividable along a plane including an axis of said counter shaft.
- 19. An axle driving unit according to claim 18, wherein said center section is provided with a bearing means for supporting said counter shaft.
- 20. An axle driving unit, comprising:
- a housing;
- an axle supported by paid housing;
- a speed change transmission for driving said axle disposed within said housing, wherein said speed change transmission comprises a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor and a center section fluidly connecting said hydraulic pump and said hydraulic motor to each other, wherein said center section is formed as a flat plate and is substantially vertically centered within said housing;
- an input shaft connected to said hydraulic pump, said input shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section and projecting outwardly from said housing; and
- an output shaft connected to said hydraulic motor, said output shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section;
- wherein said input shaft and said output shaft are disposed parallel with each other between one side surface of said center section and a wall portion of said housing which faces said side surface of said center section, and project outwardly from said wall portion of said housing so that a pulley is mounted on the outwardly projecting portion of said input shaft and a brake is mounted on the outwardly projecting portion of said output shaft.
- 21. An axle driving unit, comprising:
- a housing including at least two housing parts joined with each other along a joining surface;
- an axle disposed within said housing;
- a speed change transmission for driving said axle disposed within said housing, wherein said speed change transmission comprises a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor and a center section fluidly connecting said hydraulic pump and said hydraulic motor to each other, wherein said center section is formed as a flat plate, is substantially vertically centered within said housing, and is disposed substantially parallel to said joining surface;
- an input shaft connected to said hydraulic pump, said input shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section and projecting outwardly from said housing;
- an output shaft connected to said hydraulic motor, said output shaft disposed substantially vertically on said center section and drivingly connected to said axle; and
- a gear train connecting said output shaft to said axle, said gear train being disposed opposite said hydraulic motor with respect to said center section;
- wherein said input shaft and said output shaft are disposed parallel with each other between one side surface of said center section and a wall portion of said housing which faces said side surface of said center section.
