Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR28## wherein: R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different members of the group consisting of halo, phenyl, substituted phenyl wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of halo, hydroxy, alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and alkoxy having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and a ##STR29## group wherein n, m and p are independently an integer of from 1 to 8 provided that n+m+p is equal to or less than 10; X is thio or sulfinyl; Alk is straight or branched chain alkylene having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of [azabicycloalkyl, azatricycloalkyl, azabicycloalkylamino, and azatricycloalkylamino] 3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane; N-[1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octa-3-ylamine; 3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane; 4-azatricyclo[4.4.0.0..sup.3,8 ]decane; 4-azatricyclo[4.3.1.1.sup.3,8 ]undecane; 11-azabicyclo[4.4.1]undecane; 3-amino-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane; and 1-amino-2-azatricyclo[3.3.1.1.sup.3,7 ]decane.
- 2. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are ##STR30##
- 3. A compound of claim 2 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are 1,1-dimethylethyl.
- 4. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are halo.
- 5. A compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are phenyl.
- 6. A compound of claim 1 wherein X is thio.
- 7. A compound of claim 1 wherein X is sulfinyl.
- 8. A compound of claim 3 wherein X is thio.
- 9. A pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of inflammation and allergy comprising a compound of the formula ##STR31## wherein: R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are the same or different members of the group consisting of halo, phenyl, substituted phenyl wherein the substituents are selected from the group consisting of halo, hydroxy, alkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and alkoxy having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and a ##STR32## group wherein n, m and p are independently an integer of from 1 to 8 provided that n+m+p is equal to or less than 10; X is thio or sulfinyl; Alk is straight or branched chain alkylene having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and R.sub.3 is selected from the group consisting of 3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane; N-[1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octa-3-ylamine; 3-azabicyclo[3.3.2]nonane; 4-azatricyclo[4.4.0.0.sup.3,8 ]decane; 4-azatricyclo[4.3.1.1.sup.3,8 ]undecane; 11-azabicyclo[4.4.1]undecane; 3-amino-9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane; and 1-amino-2-azatricyclo[3.3.1.1.sup.3,7 ]decane and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent.
- 10. A pharmaceutical composition according to claim 9 wherein said compound is selected from the group consisting of 3-[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]thio]-1-oxopropyl]-3-azabicyclo[3.2.2] nonane and N-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl-2-[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]thio] acetamide, monohydrochloride.
- 11. A compound according to claim 8 which is selected from the group consisting of 3-[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]thio]-1-oxopropyl]-3-azabicyclo[3.2.2]nonane and N-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl-2-[[3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]thio]acetamide, monohydrochloride.
