Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula: wherein:R1 and R2 form a carbocyclic ring of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, wherein said ring may be saturated or unsaturated and may contain one or more heteroatoms; and X is independently hydrogen, cyano, carbamoyl, halogen or alkoxy; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
- 2. A compound as in claim 1 wherein:R1 and R2 form a carbocyclic ring of 5-6 carbon atoms, containing one or more heteroatoms; and X is hydrogen; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 which is 3-{1-[2-(2,3-Dihydro-benzo[1,4]dioxin-5-yloxy)-ethyl]-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridin-4-yl}-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine.
- 4. The compound of claim 1 which is 3-{1-[2-(1H-Indol-4-yloxy)-ethyl]-1,2,3,6-tetrahydro-pyridin-4-yl}-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine.
- 5. The compound of claim 1 which is 5-{2-[4-(1H-Pyrrolo[2,3-b]-pyridine-3-yl)-3,6-dihydro-2H-pyridin-1-yl]-ethoxy}-quinoline.
- 6. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of the formula: wherein:R1 and R2 form a carbocyclic ring of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, wherein said ring may be saturated or unsaturated and may contain one or more heteroatoms; and X is independently hydrogen, cyano, carbamoyl, halogen or alkoxy; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
- 7. A method for treating depression in a patient in need thereof comprising administering to said patient an antidepressant effective amound of a compound of the formula: wherein:R1 and R2 form a carbocyclic ring of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, wherein said ring may be saturated or unsaturated and may contain one or more heteroatoms; and X is independently hydrogen, cyano, carbamoyl, halogen or alkoxy; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
