Claims
- 1. A refrigerant composition comprising: 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and cyclopentane; 1,1,3-trifluoropropane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,2,2,4-hexafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methoxyethane and cyclopentane; or bis(pentafluoroethyl)sulfide and cyclopentane.
- 2. Effective amounts of the following compounds to form an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition: 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and cyclopentane; 1,1,3-trifluoropropane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,2,2,4-hexafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methoxyethane and cyclopentane; or bis(pentafluoroethyl)sulfide and cyclopentane.
- 3. The azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition of claim 2, said composition consisting essentially of: 64-99 weight percent 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and 1-36 weight percent cyclopentane; 30-99 weight percent 1,1,3-trifluoropropane and 1-70 weight percent cyclopentane; 43-99 weight percent 1,1,1,2,2,4-hexafluorobutane and 1-57 weight percent cyclopentane; 37-99 weight percent 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and 1-63 weight percent cyclopentane; 52-99 weight percent 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methoxyethane and 1-48 weight percent cyclopentane; or 62-99 weight percent bis(pentafluoroethyl)sulfide and 1-38 weight percent cyclopentane.
- 4. A process for producing refrigeration, comprising condensing a composition of claim 1 and thereafter evaporating said composition in the vicinity of a body to be cooled.
- 5. A process for producing heat comprising condensing a composition of claim 1 in the vicinity of a body to be heated, and thereafter evaporating said composition.
- 6. A process for producing refrigeration, comprising condensing a composition of claim 2 and thereafter evaporating said composition in the vicinity of a body to be cooled.
- 7. A process for producing heat comprising condensing a composition of claim 2 in the vicinity of a body to be heated, and thereafter evaporating said composition.
- 8. A process for producing refrigeration, comprising condensing a composition of claim 3 and thereafter evaporating said composition in the vicinity of a body to be cooled.
- 9. A process for producing heat comprising condensing a composition of claim 3 in the vicinity of a body to be heated, and thereafter evaporating said composition.
- 10. A process for preparing a thermoset a thermoplastic foam, comprising using a composition of claim 1 as a blowing agent.
- 11. Effective amounts of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane and cyclopentane; 1,1,3-trifluoropropane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,2,2,4-hexafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluorobutane and cyclopentane; 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-methoxyethane and cyclopentane; or bis(pentafluoroethyl)sulfide and cyclopentane to form binary compositions having a vapor pressure higher or lower than the vapor pressures of the components of the binary composition.
- 12. A process for producing refrigeration, comprising condensing a composition of claim 11 and thereafter evaporating said composition in the vicinity of a body to be cooled.
- 13. A process for producing heat comprising condensing a composition of claim 11 in the vicinity of a body to be heated, and thereafter evaporating said composition.
