BACKGROUND
Field of the Invention

The invention relates to cribs and bassinets and, more particularly, relates portable and detachable bassinets that can be converted into table and swing.

Description of the Related Art

The present invention relates to modular ready to assemble, transformable furniture, and more particularly to such furniture wherein major components thereof are useable and reusable in assembling a multiplicity of furniture assemblies or toy items.

Bassinets provide a safe environment in which an infant child can rest. Typically, the bassinet is a child sleeping assembly that has a flat floor on which is a mattress pad with a fitted sheet. The child lies in the assembly. Usually a bassinet can accommodate a child until the child is about three months old. After this time the use of bassinets concludes hence there is a need that such bassinets can be transformed into different useful objects to be used for entire life of a child.

Virtually all of the furniture in a typical home or business is single-purpose, and a few pieces of furniture is such typical home or business are dual-purpose. Chairs and couches are used to sit on; beds to sleep, rest or otherwise recline; tables for work surfaces, or eating or meeting space; cabinets, shelves and drawers for storage or display.

Single-purpose furniture assemblies, and even some dual-purpose furniture assemblies, are not designed to be transformed into a multitude of separate, distinct furniture items. As a result, there is generally no utility to single or dual-purpose furniture assemblies beyond the singular or dual purpose for which they are designed. Typical household and office furniture items are not made to be disassembled and reassembled in numerous different configurations. Similarly, the individual components of typical household and office furniture items are not designed to be reutilized in an entirely different fashion.

Single-purpose and/or dual purpose furniture is typically very expensive because there are no economies gained by the consumer in applying their single-purpose or dual-purpose furniture expenditure in a way that yields additional furnishing utility. The useful life of single-purpose or dual-purpose furniture is limited by the utility of the particular furniture assembly. Baby furniture is an excellent example. Cradles, bassinets, changing tables, cribs and the like all typically outlive their utility to any particular user. Thus, single and even dual-purpose furniture items are typically stored, sold or discarded once their useful life for a particular user is over. The environmental expense and impact is considerable with regard to the increased consumption of wood and other natural resources, and land fill area consumed for disposal of discarded single and dual-purpose furniture.

When a piece of furniture is no longer of use, it is often stored, sold or discarded. Most of the stored furniture clutters storage areas such as attics, basements, garages, closets or rented off-site storage units. Most single and dual-purpose furniture is not easily disassembled for storage, consuming a large amount of expensive and scarce storage space.

The present invention is modular transformable furniture for use in the construction and transformation to different furniture items. None of the previous inventions and patents, taken either singly or in combination, is seen to describe the instant invention as claimed. Hence, the inventor of the present invention proposes to resolve and surmount existent technical difficulties to eliminate the aforementioned shortcomings of prior art.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Detailed descriptions of the preferred embodiment are provided herein. It is to be understood, however, that the present invention may be embodied in various forms. Therefore, specific details disclosed herein are not to be interpreted as limiting, but rather as a basis for the claims and as a representative basis for teaching one skilled in the art to employ the present invention in virtually any appropriately detailed system, structure or manner.

One aspect of the present application is to provide a Baby bassinet that transforms to toys and furniture items. The invention comprises of a frame that holds a baby bassinet but can also transform to a baby swing and table so to provide multiple uses with one invention.

Another aspect of this invention is to provide two frames and joining them together with braces which are placed on the brackets on all four legs. Each Sides of the frame has a gear box mechanism and a receiver with a locking mechanism that allows the frame to transform into bassinet, crib or swing by inserting the Attachable bassinet, attachable crib or attachable swing onto the frame onto the receiving member. It clicks and firmly locks into place.

The invention is interchangeable at any time as it can quickly detach with the buttons found on the gearbox mechanism on each side of the frame. User will press the release buttons on the sides of the gearbox mechanism and the bassinet, crib or swing will detach from the receiving member.

FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 illustrate an embodiment of a changing table, swing and bassinet assembly that includes a frame 100, a lock receiver member 101, 2 legs 103 on each frame, Brackets 105, and a gear box mechanism 107 with button to detach for easy storage or transportation.

FIGS. 4 and 5 shows further, detachable table system 200 even after a child has grown too big for the bassinet, the assembly can still be employed as a table 201 by simply removing the bassinet frame from the frame 100. There is also a detachable shelf 203 to make the frame more stable. FIGS. 5 shows detachable table top 201 fastened to the frame 100 receiving members 101. This way it can be used as a table when the child has grown.

FIGS. 6 and 7 shows further, detachable swing seat 300. There is a support bar for swing 301. The swing frame will be attached to suspension frame 100 to be used.

FIGS. 8 and 9 shows, detachable bassinet 400, It comprises of bassinet seat 401 that is attached to the frame 100. There is a shelf 403 that is attached to the base to give crib more stability.

FIGS. 10 shows, all three functions, table 201, swing 301 and bassinet 401 attached to base frame 100 through receiving member 101. The invention detaches by pressing the buttons on each side of the gearbox mechanism of the frame.

The modular transformable furniture is comprised of a combination of a plurality of frame assemblies, one or more connecting assemblies, optional accessory assemblies, and a means for interconnecting the assemblies together. The various assemblies are attached or joined to one another using simple interconnection hardware. The interconnection hardware enables easy initial assembly, disassembly and alternate furniture transformation. The simple interconnection hardware also enables easy disassembly for storage. All of the individual assemblies can be stored or transported in a manner that minimizes the volume of space consumed.
