(a) Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to backpacks and more particularly, to such a backpack that has an electric cable on the inside and an electric socket on the outside so that the user can electrically connect an external electric attachment (for example, earphone set) to a mobile electronic device carried in the backpack without opening the backpack through the electric socket and the electric cable.
(b) Description of the Prior Art
A conventional backpack generally has two shoulder straps for carrying on the user's back, a main pocket closed by a zip fastener, and side pockets at one or two opposite lateral sides for receiving accessories. A CD player, MP3, or any of a variety of mobile electronic devices may be carried in the backpack for use when desired. A mobile electronic device may be used an electric attachment, for example, earphone set. When using a mobile electronic device in a backpack, the user must open the backpack and then connect the electric attachment to the mobile electronic device, and then carry the backpack on the back. Further, the zip fastener must be opened to provide a small opening for the passing of the cable of the earphone set. It is inconvenient to use a mobile electronic device in this manner.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. According to one aspect of the present invention, the backpack has an electric cable on the inside and an electric socket on the outside so that the user can electrically connect an external electric attachment to a mobile electronic device carried in the backpack without opening the backpack through the electric socket and the electric cable without opening the backpack.
According to another aspect of the present invention, the cable is connectable to an earphone jack of a mobile multimedia player, and the electric socket is an earphone jack for receiving an external earphone set. By means of the cable and the electric socket of the backpack, the user can connect an external earphone set to a mobile multimedia player carried in the backpack without opening the backpack.
According to still another aspect of the present invention, the backpack has a small inside pocket for receiving the cable, and a big inside pocket for receiving a mobile electronic device so that the use of the mobile electronic device does not interfere with the use of the internal space of the backpack.
Referring to
The backpack body 1 can be made in any of a variety of forms for carrying things, having two shoulder straps 11 at the back side through which the backpack body 1 is carried on the user's back, a small inside pocket 12 disposed on the inside at a suitable location, and a big inside pocket 13 disposed on the inside near the small inside pocket 12. The small inside pocket 12 may be provided with an enclosure, for example, a zip fastener.
The cable 2 is received in the small inside pocket 12 inside the backpack body 1, having one end (namely, the inner end) electrically mounted with an electric plug 21 and the other end (namely, the outer end) embedded in and extending along the lining of the small inside pocket 12 and then fixedly fastened to a part (for example, one shoulder strap 11) outside the backpack body 1.
The electric socket 3 is a hard member fixedly fastened to part (for example, one shoulder strap 11) outside the backpack body 1 and electrically connected to the outer end of the cable 2. According to this embodiment, the electric socket 3 is adapted to receive an earphone set 5.
A mobile electronic device 4 (for example, mobile CD player, MP3, etc.) carried in the backpack formed of the aforesaid backpack body 1, cable 2 and electric socket 3 can be connected with its earphone jack to the electric plug 21 of the cable 2, and the user can connect (the plug of) an earphone set 5 to the electric socket 3 to receive audio output from the mobile electronic device 4.
The aforesaid inside small pocket 12 of the backpack body 1 is for receiving the cable 2, and the inside big pocket 13 is for receiving a mobile electronic device 4. Therefore, the composition of the present invention does not interfere with the original arrangement and use of the inside space of the backpack.
As stated above, the backpack body 1 can be made in any of a variety of forms. For example, the backpack body 1 can be externally equipped with a handle 6, a cinch strap 7, and/or a carabiner 8.
Although a particular embodiment of the inventions has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
