The BadgeKeeper is a uniform accessory device for use with pin badges that are worn on police, fire, EMS and security type uniform shirts.
Pin badges attach to thin uniform shirts with no other means of support. This causes a badge to hang loosely creating an unprofessional appearance as well as unnecessary safety risks. A loose badge can catch on equipment or other people when in close contact. It can also provide a grab point for suspects when police are in any type of physical altercation.
No device currently exists that firmly and discretely secures a police, fire, EMS or security type pin badge to a uniform shirt.
The BadgeKeeper is a device that provides support and stabilization to pin badges that attach to police, fire, EMS, and security type uniform shirts. It attaches behind a pin badge and under a uniform shirt providing a stable platform that keeps a badge securely in place.
The BadgeKeeper provides a more professional appearance for uniform badges. It also eliminates the safety risk of a grab point as well as the possibility of a loose badge catching on equipment or other people.
The BadgeKeeper dimensions are noted on
The BadgeKeeper is a single component, with no additional parts or elements, that attaches to a uniform badge creating a solid platform restricting unwanted badge movement.
The BadgeKeeper is rectangular in shape with slightly rounded corners. As noted on
The BadgeKeeper attaches to a uniform shirt by holding it behind the shirt in the area where the badge attaches. The pin on a badge would be inserted through the uniform shirt and into The BadgeKeeper. The badge pin would then be inserted through The BadgeKeeper's extrusion and back out to the front of the uniform shirt where the badge pin securely fastens to the badge.
The BadgeKeeper is constructed of high-density polyethylene or a similar plastic polymer and would be most efficiently manufactured by means of a plastic injection molding process.
