DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The bag according to the present invention is capable of storing beauty aids. It is designed with a roomy compartment for holding all toiletries, cosmetics (e.g., colored shadow and/or tint materials such as eye shadow, blush, powders), perfume, creams, lotions, gels, makeup brushes, palettes, etc. in a manner which allows the aperture to be opened or the bag to be opened all the way down to the bottom and thereby allows for easy access to all of these items and anything else that might be carried in such a bag. In this manner, the bag protects eye-shadows, blush, powders and perfume bottles from cracking and breaking. In certain preferred embodiments, the bag is therefore comprised of a shock absorbing protective layer. In certain embodiments, the bag is spill resistant and/or water resistant. The bag is alternatively referred to as “a bagmat” which reflects its functionality as both a storage device and a makeup application device.

These and other aspects of the embodiments herein will be better appreciated and understood when considered in conjunction with the following description and the accompanying drawings.

The bagmat can be made available in multiple sizes to meet the diverse needs. In certain embodiments, the bag may be in any size suitable for the individual's needs, e.g., from a relatively small bag (for example, 5 cm wide by 5 cm tall) to the size of a garment bag. The bagmat may be provided in any desirable design and color. In certain preferred embodiments, the exterior and even the interior of the bag is made up of multiple designs, prints and colors. Printing ink may be applied to the exterior and/or interior of the bagmat and provide a design or a logo as desired. Preferably, the printing ink can be an ink that will not be removed by machine washing.

The bagmat may be made at least in part of a multiplicity of suitable materials, such as, but not limited to, natural and synthetic rubbers, neoprene, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), ethylene propylene diene (EPDM), durable plastics such as but not limited to polypropylene (PP) and lightweight metals such as but not limited to aluminum alloy, etc. EPDM rubber (or ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) is a type of synthetic elastomer rubber. An exterior of the entire storage container 100 may be decorated with, but not limited to, an attractive design, pattern and/or logo 160. EPDM rubber is a high-density rubber that is very durable and water resistant. EPDM rubber has excellent resistance to atmospheric aging which makes it heat, ozone and weather resistant. EPDM rubber has a good resistance to most water-based chemicals. EPDM rubber also has a great resistance to abrasives and tearing. EPDM rubber has stable, saturated polymer backbone structure which makes it a good shock absorbing material. According to an embodiment herein, the outer lining of the bag is made up of a material selected from the group consisting of a polyester fabric, an oxford nylon fabric, a nylon fabric, EPDM, neoprene, or mixtures of any of the foregoing.

In certain preferred embodiments, the bag is comprised of Neoprene (also polychloroprene or pc-rubber), which is a family of synthetic rubbers that are produced by polymerization of chloroprene. Neoprene exhibits good chemical stability and maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range. Neoprene and EDPM are closed cell foams that are soft, flexible and durable form-fitting sponge rubber that provides good thermal and moisture insulation. Neoprene and EDPM are resistant to the ozone, sunlight, oxidation, many chemicals and petroleum derivatives. Neoprene and EDPM can resist breakdown by water and air and is able to be isolated by virtue of its unique molecular structure. Owing to these qualities, use of EDPM and neoprene makes the bag of the present invention shock proof.

In certain preferred embodiments, at least part (and in certain embodiments preferably all) of the bagmat material is a stretchy durable fabric like neoprene and the fabric is preferably antibacterial.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the bagmat, showing an illustration of its design. As depicted in this example, the bagmat is a storage container 100, wherein the storage container device may allow convenient access and proper application of beauty aids (e.g., cosmetics) from practically any location. The bagmat device 100 further includes an aperture 110 and a securing fastener (which in FIG. 1 is a zipper) 120. The zipper may be sewn on 3 sides of the bagmat (e.g., top, right and left sides), such that when it is opened, the interior of the bagmat lays flat which the beauty aids enclosed therein. The beauty aids may be removeably attached to the interior wall of the bagmat 130, e.g., via the use of a strap(s) attached to the inner wall. The strap may be elastic such that it can stretch around part or all of a beauty aid contained in the bagmat and (reversibly) removed from the interior of the bagmat when the zipper is opened (e.g., on 3 sides of the bagmat). In certain embodiments, the bagmat includes an outer handle 140 to aid in the portability of the device. The handle 140 may be disposed on the same sidewall as the strap 135 on the interior wall 130. The interior of the bagmat 150 may be used to store cosmetics and/or items that may be conveniently transported to any area for use. The storage container device 100 of FIG. 1 when fully closed, measures approximately 26.5 cm wide by 27.5 cm tall, and is made of 3 mm neoprene. In other embodiments, the aperture and the bagmat may comprise various depths, lengths, widths, sizes and shapes. The bagmat may comprise shock absorbing materials. The shock absorbing materials of the bagmat may be in the form, e.g., of parallel layers of EDPM and foam neoprene rubber, and water crystal ball. FIG. 2 is a view of the bagmat showing its opened interior. FIG. 3 is a right side elevational view of the bagmat. FIG. 4 is a left side elevational view of the bagmat. FIG. 2 is a view of the bagmat showing its opened interior showing (preferably reusable) fasteners (in this case straps) for articles to be transported, etc. The straps are attached to the interior of the bagmat. Instead of (elastic or stretchable) straps, the fasteners may hold the items to be carried via the use of buttons, snaps (136), velcro, buckles, and the like.

According to an embodiment herein, the interior lining of the bag is made up of a suitable material which may be the same or different than the other lining of the bagmat. In certain embodiments, the inner lining may be a nylon fabric, a cotton fabric or a polyester fabric.
