- 2. The bag of claim 1 including a front face defining said upper longitudinal edge and said arms are adapted to extend generally outwardly from the front face of the bag.
- 3. The bag of claim 2 wherein the arms of said support member are rotatable about the front face of the bag between a first position wherein the arms are disposed adjacent the front face to a second position wherein said arms are disposed in an orientation generally normal to said front face of said bag.
- 4. The bag of claim 3 wherein a collar interconnects said arms.
- 5. The bag of claim 4 further including a sleeve along the upper longitudinal edge of the front face of the bag, said collar of said support member extending through said sleeve and being rotatable therein.
- 6. The bag of claim 5 wherein the collar defines a hollow elongate tube including open opposed ends, each of the arms including a shoulder adapted for extension and securement into the opposed ends respectively of said tube.
- 7. The bag of claim 6 wherein two or more slits are formed in the bag so as to define said sleeve of said support member, the bag further including a flap associated with the front face and adapted to be wrapped around and cover said collar.
- 8. The bag of claim 5 wherein the sleeve is secured to the front face of the bag in an orientation wherein the sleeve extends generally longitudinally along the upper longitudinal edge thereof.
- 9. The bag of claim 8 wherein said support member comprises a clip defining said arms and said collar extends unitarily therebetween.
- 10. The bag of claim 2 wherein the support member comprises an elongate flexible rod defining said pair of spaced-apart arms, said arms being adapted to be bent manually into a selected configuration and to retain said bent configuration when released, the rod being adapted to be secured to the front face of the bag along the upper longitudinal edge thereof.
- 11. The bag of claim 6 wherein the collar includes a plurality of spaced-apart apertures defined therein and each of the arms includes a pin adapted to be locked into a selected one of said apertures when the shoulders of said arms respectively are secured to said collar.
- 12. The bag of claim 6 wherein the collar has a pair of threaded ends adapted to receive end caps respectively, the end caps being threadable over the ends of said collar respectively for securing said shoulders of said arms within said collar.
- 13. A bag adapted for suspension from the shoulders of a wearer in an over-the-back orientation, the bag including an outer surface, a handle, and a shoulder suspension assembly including a pair of side strap members extending upwardly from opposed ends of the outer surface of the bag and converging into a center strap member extending downwardly into engagement with the handle.
- 14. The bag of claim 13 wherein the side strap members incorporate respective shoulder pads adapted to surround the shoulders of the wearer respectively.
- 15. The bag of claim 14 wherein said center strap member has one end secured to the handle and further comprises a pair of straps extending upwardly from said end secured to said handle into said respective shoulder straps.
- 16. The bag of claim 15 wherein said center strap member defines an eyelet and a strip of material is adapted to be wrapped around said handle and said eyelet for securing said center strap member to said handle.
- 17. The bag of claim 16 wherein said strip of material is a hook and loop type material.
- 18. A bag adapted for suspension from the shoulders of a wearer in an over-the-back relationship, the bag including a front having an upper longitudinal edge portion, the front having one or slits formed therein defining one or more hollow elongate sleeves in said front in the region of said upper longitudinal edge portion thereof, the bag further comprising a waist/hip support assembly including a pair of spaced-apart arms, said waist/hip support assembly extending through said one or more sleeves and being rotatable in said one or more sleeves between a first position wherein the arms hang down against the front of the bag and a second position wherein the arms extend generally normally outwardly from the front of the bag and are adapted to engage against the respective opposed sides of the waist and/or hips of the wearer.
- 19. The bag of claim 18 wherein the waist/hip support assembly includes a collar defining a hollow elongate tube including open opposed ends, each of the arms including a shoulder adapted for extension and securement into and through the opposed ends respectively of said tube.
- 20. The bag of claim 19 wherein the collar includes a plurality of spaced-apart apertures defined therein and each of the arms includes a pin adapted to be locked into a selected one of said apertures when the shoulders of said arms respectively are secured to said collar.
- 21. The bag of claim 19 wherein the collar has a pair of threaded ends adapted to receive end caps respectively, the end caps being fastenable onto the ends of said collar respectively for securing said shoulders of said arms within said collar.
- 22. The bag of claim 18 further comprising a flap on the front of the bag adapted to cover said collar.
- 23. The bag of claim 18 wherein the waist/hip support assembly comprises an elongate flexible rod defining said pair of spaced-apart arms, said arms being adapted to be bent manually into a selected configuration and to retain said bent configuration when released.
