The disclosure relates to ball games and more particularly pertains to a new ball game for facilitating a plurality of players to compete against each other in a ball bouncing game.
The prior art relates to ball games including a handball game that involves bouncing a ball on a vertical surface and a pair of rectilinear playing fields. The prior art discloses a balloon bounce game that including a folding mat upon which a balloon can be bounced. The prior art discloses a hook and loop golf game that includes a playing field and a ball with hook and loop fasteners that is rolled onto the playing field. The prior art discloses a portable playing field that has a triangular shape for playing a ball and bat game. The prior art discloses a racquet ball game that includes a wall against which a ball is bounced and a playing field upon which players attempt to intercept that ball.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a vertical surface and a playing field comprising a first section and a second section each having a respective first player and a second player standing therein. A ball is provided that is thrown by a third player. The ball is bounced against the vertical surface thereby facilitating the ball to travel toward one of the first section or the second section of the playing field. The first player and the second player attempt to catch or deflect to inhibit the ball from landing in the first section or the second section. The ball scores a game point for the third player when the ball lands in either of first section or the second section after the ball is bounced off of the vertical surface.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A respective one of the corners 20 is directed toward the vertical surface 12 having a base 22 of the triangular shape extending along a line that is oriented parallel with the vertical surface 12. The playing field 14 has a dividing line 24 extending between the respective corner 20 and the base 22 to define the first section 16 and the second section 18 of the playing field 14. A first player 26 and a second player 28 are assigned to a respective first section 16 and second section 18. Additionally, a third player 30 is positioned between the vertical surface 12 and the playing field 14.
A ball 32 is provided that can be thrown by the third player 30. The ball 32 is bounced against the vertical surface 12 thereby facilitating the ball 32 to travel toward one of the first section 16 or the second section 18 of the playing field 14. Additionally, the first player 26 or the second player 28 attempts to catch or deflect the ball 32. The ball 32 scores a game point for the third player 30 when the ball 32 lands in either of first section 16 or the second section 18 after the ball 32 is bounced off of the vertical surface 12. The ball 32 scores bonus points when the ball 32 travels beyond the base 22 of the triangular shape defined by the playing field 14 after the ball 32 is bounced off of the vertical surface 12. The playing field 14 may be spaced between 3.0 feet and 5.0 feet from the vertical surface 12. The dividing line 24 may have a length of at least 15.0 feet and the base of the triangular shape may have a length of at least 30.0 feet.
In use, the playing field 14 is defined with a preferred means such that the playing field 14 is located adjacent to the vertical surface 12 and the playing field 14 is divided into the first section 16 and the second section 18. The ball 32 is assigned to the third player 30 and the third player 30 is placed between the playing field 14 and the vertical surface 12. The first player 26 is assigned to the first section 16 and the second player 28 is assigned to the second section 18. The third player 30 throws the ball 32 against the vertical surface 12 such that the ball bounces toward either the first section 16 or the second section 18 of the playing field 14. Each of the first player 26 and the second player 28 attempts to catch or deflect the ball 32 in the effort to inhibit the ball 32 from landing in either of the first section 16 or the second section 18. The third player 26 scores two points if the ball 32 lands in either the first section 16 or the second section 18. The third player 26 scores five points if the ball 32 bounces past the base 22 of the triangular shape defined by the playing field 14. Additionally, the first player 26, the second player 28 and the third player 30 rotate positions each time the ball 32 is thrown three times. The game is played until one of the first player 26, the second player 28 or the third player 30 scores a pre-determined total of points.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
