The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present invention(s). It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art, or material, to the presently described or claimed inventions, or that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
The present invention relates generally to the field of strength training devices. More specifically, the invention is a pair of ball handling and grip strength training gloves designed to increase hand and grip strength and ball handling in order to improve a players performance in sports such as American football.
Hand and grip strength is an important issue with a wide range of effects on activities as diverse as opening a jar to gripping a wheel to simply holding someone's hand. Such strength is of particular import in a number of sports, including American football, soccer, and water polo, where the ability to reliably catch, hold, and throw a ball can make or break a players game, whatever their level of play.
Ball handling skills are closely related to hand strength, and of utmost importance to players in ball-focused sports. Many players close their hands before the ball makes contact, causing them to drop the ball. Players in a number of sports often have issues due to a lack of hand strength that causes their performance to diminish. Players can be prone to fumbling a ball or missing tackles because their hand strength is insufficient.
Currently available grip strengtheners tend to include balls and other devices that can be squeezed repeatedly as part of a workout. While this is useful for over all hand strength, it doesn't necessarily help to improve a player's ball handling skills.
Ideally, ball handling and grip strength-training gloves should provide a way of increasing a user's ball handling and grip strength and, yet would operate reliably and be manufactured at a modest expense. Thus, a need exists for a reliable ball handling hand and grip strength-training glove to avoid the above-mentioned problems.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known grip strength-training device art, the present invention provides a novel ball handling and grip strength training glove. The general purpose of the present invention, as described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a pair of ball handling and hand and grip strength training gloves.
The ball handling and grip strength training gloves as claimed are gloves designed to strength the fingers and forearms of a user by creating resistance when worn. The presently claimed invention assists players in catching balls, and strengthens the grip for players in any sport, while helping to prevent players from closing their hands before the ball is caught, thereby assisting in preventing fumbles.
The ball handling and grip strength training gloves include resistance tension bands along the finger portions at the top of the gloves, thereby forcing the user to keep their hands open. This strengthens the muscles in the user's hands and forearms.
The present invention holds significant improvements and serves as ball handling and grip strength training gloves. For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention that are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
The figures that accompany the written portion of this specification illustrate embodiments and method(s) of use for the present invention, a ball handling and grip strength training glove, constructed and operative according to the teachings of the present invention.
The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings, wherein like designations denote like elements.
As discussed above, embodiments of the present invention relate to a strength training device and more particularly to a ball handling and grip strength training glove as used to improve the user's ball handling and hand grip strength.
Generally speaking, the ball handling and grip strength training gloves have resistance bands in the finger portion of the gloves that keep the hands in an open position. In order to close his or her hand, the user must work against the resistance bands, thereby increasing the strength of the user's hand and forearm muscles.

The embodiments of the invention described herein are exemplary and numerous modifications, variations and rearrangements can be readily envisioned to achieve substantially equivalent results, all of which are intended to be embraced within the spirit and scope of the invention. Further, the purpose of the foregoing abstract is to enable the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the public generally, and especially the scientist, engineers and practitioners in the art who are not familiar with patent or legal terms or phraseology, to determine quickly from a cursory inspection the nature and essence of the technical disclosure of the application.
