Claims
- 1. A solid cleansing composition, wherein the solid cleansing composition comprises:
- (a) about 70 to about 90 wt. % soap;
- (b) about 0.01 to about 5 wt. % of a silicone;
- (c) about 0.5 to about 5 wt. % of petrolatum; and
- (d) about 0.02 to about 0.9 wt. % of a cationic polymer.
- 2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the silicone is dimethyl polysiloxane.
- 3. The composition of claim 1 wherein the silicone is present in from about 0.75 to about 4 wt. % of the composition.
- 4. The composition of claim 2 wherein the minimum viscosity of dimethyl polysiloxane is about 15,000 centistokes.
- 5. The composition of claim 1 wherein the petrolatum is about 0.5 to about 4 wt. % of the composition.
- 6. The composition of claim 1 wherein the cationic polymer is from about 0.05 to about 0.75 wt. % of the composition.
- 7. The composition of claim 6 wherein the cationic polymer is a noncellulose containing nonsugar containing cationic polymer.
- 8. The composition of claim 7 wherein the cationic polymer is polymeric dimethyl diallylammonium chloride or the polymeric quaternary ammonium salt of acrylamide and dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride.
- 9. The composition of claim 8 wherein the cationic polymer is polymeric dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride.
- 10. The composition of claim 8 wherein the cationic polymer is the polymeric quaternary ammonium salt of acrylamide and dimethyl diallylammonium chloride.
- 11. The composition of claim 1 wherein there is about 6 to about 22 wt. % of moisture in the composition.
- 12. The composition of claim 1 wherein the solid is in bar form.
- 13. The composition of claim 12 wherein the bar is a pressed bar.
- 14. The composition of claim 1 wherein a fragrance is also present in the composition.
- 15. A method for inhibiting loss of moisture from skin and shielding skin which comprises applying to the skin a composition of claim 1 and thereafter rinsing the skin.
