Abstract
A cleaning tool for use in removing food residue from barbecue grill-grates and grill housings. The design utilizes two scraping edges that are highly effective due to the angle at which the tool is oriented to the horizontal grill-grate. The scraping end of the tool is hereinafter referred to as the “Tip” and the bottom end of the tool is hereinafter referred to as the “Base”. The base has a garden-hose adapter incorporated into the tool so that char residue may be rinsed off as the grill grate or housing is being scraped.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to scrapers for cleaning cooking grills, such as used in barbecues. It is a brushless and bristle-free design so as to eliminate the danger of possibly ingesting a wire bristle.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The objective of the invention is to provide a simple scraping and rinsing tool for cleaning grill grates and grill housings.

Briefly summarized, the present grill scraping tool is comprised of a length of aluminum pipe, a length of PVC pipe, and a garden hose adapter. The specially designed scraping tip intersects the individual grill grate bars at substantially a 45 degree angle to form a cutting edge.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a side view of the tool.

FIG. 2 is a partial top view of aluminum pipe and tip of the tool.

FIG. 3 is a view of the protective nylon hanger cap to cover the tip for storage.

FIG. 4 is a partial side view of the aluminum pipe and tip of the tool

FIG. 5 is a partial bottom view of the aluminum pipe and tip of the tool.

DESCRIPTION

The present invention is a tool useful for scraping off food residue and char from barbecue or other cooking grill grates. The tool may also be used to rinse off charred material by connecting the tool to a garden hose and allowing a low flow of water to exit to tool tip while scraping.

Described in detail, a preferred embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, is made up of a length of aluminum pipe. The pipe has a “V”-shaped notch cut out of the top side of the pipe, and a semi-circular groove cut out of the bottom side of the pipe to facilitate scraping of all grill bar shapes up to ⅜″ diameter.
