Claims
- 1. A method for conducting a plurality of wireless communications which comprise transmitted (TX) and received (RX) information signals using time division multiple access wireless transmission and reception, the method comprising:
transmitting synchronization information and the assignment of periodic slots from a first communication station to a second communication station; receiving said transmitted synchronization information and said assignment of periodic slots at said second communication station; adjusting the timing of said second communication station, whereby the timing of said first communication station and said second communication station are synchronized; transmitting synchronization information and the assignment of periodic slots from said second communication station to a third communication station; and adjusting the timing of said second communication station, whereby the timing of said first communication station, said second communication station, and said third communication station are synchronized.
- 2. The method of claim 1, further comprising the steps of:
transmitting information signals from said first communication station to said second communication station in a first time period, and receiving information signals at said first communication station from said second communication station in a second time period, whereby said first communication station and said second communication station alternately transmit and receive in a synchronized time division duplex scheme.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein said information signals comprise voice signals.
- 4. The method of claim 3 further comprising the steps of:
receiving an analog voice signal at said first communication station; digitizing said analog voice signal at said first communication station, thereby producing a digitized voice signal; and compressing said digitized voice signal, thereby producing a reduced bit rate signal.
- 5. The method of claim 2, wherein said first communication station is in wireline communication with a central office.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein with said second communication station wherein said third communication station is located beyond the transmission range of said first communication station.
- 7. A method for conducting a plurality of telephonic communications which comprise transmitted (TX) and received (RX) information signals using time division wireless transmission and reception, the method comprising:
listening at second communication station for a device access code; paging said second communication station from a first communication station by transmitting said device access code; receiving said page at said second communication station; responding to said page by transmitting from said second communication station to said first communication station; synchronizing the timing of said second communication station to the timing of said first communication station; and initiating a connection between said first communication station and said second communication station, where said first communication station and said second communication station alternately transmit and receive in a synchronized time division duplex scheme.
- 8. The method of claim 7, further comprising the steps of:
listening at a third communication station for a device access code; paging said third communication station from said second communication station by transmitting a device access code; receiving said page at said third communication station; responding to said page by transmitting from said third communication station to said second communication station; and synchronizing the timing of said third communication station to the timing of said second communication station.
- 9. The method of claim 8, further comprising the step of initiating a connection between said second communication station and said third communication station, wherein said second communication station and said third communication station alternately transmit and receive in a synchronized time division duplex scheme.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein said third communication station is located beyond the transmission range of said first communication station.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein said second communication station transmits information received from said first communication station to said third communication station and said second communication station transmits information received from said third communication station to said first communication station.
- 12. The method of claim 7, wherein said information signals include voice signals or a data signals.
