Claims
- 1. In a latex paint coating composition, the improvement comprising having present in said latex paint coating composition an agent for rendering said latex paint coating composition color resistant toward tannin stains and possessing corrosion and mildew resistant properties, said agent comprising a basic zinc phosphite having the formula X ZnO.ZnHPO.sub.3 where X is a number from 1/2 to 100
- 2. Latex paint coating composition according to claim 1 in which the basic zinc phosphite contains from 0 to 3 moles of bound water.
- 3. A process for imparting tannin stain inhibition, corrosion resistance and mildew resistance to a latex paint coating composition which comprises adding to said latex paint coating composition a basic zinc phosphite, said basic zinc phosphite having the formula X ZnO.ZnHPO.sub.3 where X is a number from 1/2 to 10.
