Claims
- 1. A basket liner assembly, comprising:
- a basket having an inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a bonding material disposed upon a portion of the outer surface,
- wherein the sheet of material is selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil and combinations thereof, the sheet of material being flexible and substantially non-shape sustaining,
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of overlapping folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the outer surface of the basket liner bondingly engaging at least a portion of the inner surface of the basket.
- 2. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the basket liner has a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base.
- 3. The basket liner assembly of claim 2 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 4. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 5. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 6. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
- 7. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising an adhesive.
- 8. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising a cohesive.
- 9. The basket liner assembly of claim 1 wherein the inner surface of the basket further comprises a bonding material.
- 10. The basket liner assembly of claim 9 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 11. The basket liner assembly of claim 9 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises a cohesive.
- 12. A basket liner assembly, comprising:
- a basket having an inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a bonding material disposed upon a portion of the outer surface,
- wherein the sheet of material is flexible and substantially non-shape sustaining,
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the outer surface of the basket liner bondingly engaging at least a portion of the inner surface of the basket.
- 13. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner has a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base.
- 14. The basket liner assembly of claim 13 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 15. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 16. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner is formed from a sheet of material selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil, paper, cellophane, fabric, burlap, and combinations thereof.
- 17. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 18. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
- 19. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising an adhesive.
- 20. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising a cohesive.
- 21. The basket liner assembly of claim 12 wherein the inner surface of the basket further comprises a bonding material.
- 22. The basket liner assembly of claim 21 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 23. The basket liner assembly of claim 21 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises a cohesive.
- 24. A basket liner assembly, comprising:
- a basket having an inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a bonding material disposed upon a portion of the outer surface,
- wherein the sheet of material is flexible and substantially non-shape-sustaining.
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, a substantial portion of the folds extending over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of overlapping folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the outer surface of the basket liner bondingly engaging at least a portion of the inner surface of the basket.
- 25. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner has a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base.
- 26. The basket liner assembly of claim 25 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 27. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 28. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner is formed from a sheet of material selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil, paper, cellophane, fabric, burlap, and combinations thereof.
- 29. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 30. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner further comprises sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
- 31. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising an adhesive.
- 32. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising a cohesive.
- 33. The basket liner assembly of claim 24 wherein the inner surface of the basket further comprises a bonding material.
- 34. The basket liner assembly of claim 33 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 35. The basket liner assembly of claim 33 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 36. A basket liner assembly comprising:
- of a basket having an inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base, a bonding material disposed upon a portion of the outer surface of the base,
- wherein the sheet of material is flexible and substantially non-shape sustaining,
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the outer surface of the basket liner bondingly engaging at least a portion of the inner surface of the basket.
- 37. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein at least a portion of the decorative border of the basket liner extends beyond the basket.
- 38. The basket liner assembly of claim 37 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 39. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 40. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the basket liner is formed from a sheet of material selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil, paper, cellophane, fabric, burlap, and combinations thereof.
- 41. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 42. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
- 43. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising an adhesive.
- 44. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the basket liner further comprises a bonding material comprising a cohesive.
- 45. The basket liner assembly of claim 36 wherein the inner surface of the basket further comprises a bonding material.
- 46. The basket liner assembly of claim 45 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 47. The basket liner assembly of claim 45 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 48. A basket liner assembly comprising:
- a basket having an inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a bonding material comprising an adhesive disposed upon a portion of the outer surface of the base.
- wherein the sheet of material is flexible and substantially non-shape sustaining,
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the outer surface of the basket liner adhesively engaging at least a portion of the inner surface of the basket.
- 49. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein the basket liner has a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base.
- 50. The basket liner assembly of claim 49 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 51. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 52. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein the basket liner is formed from a sheet of material selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil, paper, cellophane, fabric, burlap, and combinations thereof.
- 53. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 54. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
- 55. The basket liner assembly of claim 48 wherein the inner surface of the basket further comprises a bonding material.
- 56. The basket liner assembly of claim 55 wherein the bonding material on the inner surface of the basket comprises an adhesive.
- 57. A basket liner assembly comprising:
- a basket having an inner surface, a bonding material comprising a cohesive being disposed on at least a portion of the inner surface; and
- a preformed basket liner made by forming at least one sheet of flexible material into a predetermined shape for both lining a basket and receiving an object, wherein the basket liner comprises
- a base having a closed lower end and an open upper end and an outer periphery forming an outer surface, the open upper end intersected by an object opening extending therethrough, said object opening forming an inner surface, a bonding material comprising a cohesive disposed upon a portion of the outer surface of the base,
- wherein the sheet of material is flexible and substantially non-shape sustaining,
- wherein folds are formed in both the outer surface of the basket liner and the inner surface of the basket liner, whereby the formed basket liner is flexible and may be substantially flattened and then unflattened to assume the original shape of the formed basket liner without substantial loss of the preformed shape thereby providing the flexible yet shape-sustaining nature of the formed basket liner,
- wherein the forming of the sheet of material is accomplished by forming a portion of the sheet of material into a plurality of folds to form the base of the basket liner, said folds cooperating to retain the basket liner in the formed shape,
- wherein the base is able to stand upright on the closed lower end thereof before the liner is disposed in the basket, and
- wherein the preformed basket liner is disposed in the basket with the outer surface of the liner adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the preformed basket liner remaining upright when disposed adjacent the inner surface of the basket, the cohesive on the outer surface of the basket liner cohesively engaging at least a portion of the cohesive on the inner surface of the basket.
- 58. The basket liner assembly of claim 57 wherein the basket liner has a decorative border extending outwardly from the open upper end of the base.
- 59. The basket liner assembly of claim 58 wherein the decorative border is substantially free of folds.
- 60. The basket liner assembly of claim 57 wherein a substantial portion of the folds extend over different distances and at various and arbitrary angles.
- 61. The basket liner assembly of claim 57 wherein the basket liner is formed from a sheet of material selected from the group consisting of polymer film, foil, paper, cellophane, fabric, burlap, and combinations thereof.
- 62. The basket liner assembly of claim 57 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 3.0 mils.
- 63. The basket liner assembly of claim 57 wherein the basket liner further comprises a sheet of material having a thickness of less than about 30 mils.
