Claims
- 1. System for moving a seat in a bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath, wherein the guiding assembly comprises a first arm pivotally connected between the bath wall behind the seat and the seat; and a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein
said lifting device comprises at least one rotatable member for moving said first arm to move the seat to the raised position and the side wall having at least one opening, said rotatable member is positioned through said side wall opening, and said guiding assembly guides the seat between said lowered position and said raised position.
- 2. System for moving a seat in a bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath, wherein the guiding assembly comprises a first arm pivotally connected between the bath wall behind the seat and the seat; and a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein
said lifting device comprises at least one rotatable member for moving said first arm to move the seat to said raised position, said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position, and said guiding assembly guides the seat between said lowered position and said raised laterally offset position.
- 3. System for moving a seat in a bath, the bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath and between the wall behind the seat and the seat; and a lifting device for moving the seat between said raised position and said lowered position, wherein
said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position, said guiding assembly guides the seat between said lowered position and said raised laterally offset position from said lowered position towards said side wall of the bath.
- 4. The system of claim 3, further comprising:
a frame disposed within the bath; wherein the frame is located between the wall behind the seat and the seat and wherein the guiding assembly is attached to the frame.
- 5. System adapted for use with a bath having a seat back and for moving a seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath while the seat moves between a lowered position and a raised position, wherein the guiding assembly is substantially covered by the seat back when the seat is in said lowered position.
- 6. The system of claim 5, further comprising:
a lifting device substantially covered by the seat back when the seat is in said lowered position.
- 7. The system of claim 5, the bath having a wall behind the seat, wherein the guiding assembly is pivotally attached between the wall behind the seat and the seat.
- 8. The system of claim 5, wherein the bath having a side wall,
said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position, and said guiding assembly moves between the lowered position and said raised laterally offset position from the lowered position towards the side wall of the bath.
- 9. The system of claim 5, wherein the bath having a side wall,
said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position, and said guiding assembly pivotally guides the seat between said lowered position and said raised laterally offset position from the lowered position towards the side wall of the bath.
- 10. The system of claim 5, wherein the bath having a wall behind the seat, further comprising:
a frame disposed within the bath, wherein
the frame is disposed between the wall behind the seat, and the seat and wherein the guiding assembly is attached to the frame.
- 11. The system of claim 10, further comprising the wall behind the seat having a top, wherein the frame is attached adjacent to the top of the wall behind the seat.
- 12. The system of claim 10, further comprising the bath having a bath bottom, wherein the frame is further disposed between the seat and the bath bottom.
- 13. The system of claim 10, wherein the guiding assembly comprises a first arm pivotally connected to the frame.
- 14. The system of claim 10, further comprising:
a lifting device disposed within the bath; wherein the lifting device is connected to the frame and to the guiding assembly.
- 15. System adapted for use with a bath and for moving a seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly to guide the movement of the seat; a lifting device for moving the seat; and a lifting power system for increasing standard bath water pressure to lifting hydraulic pressure.
- 16. The system of claim 15, wherein the lifting power system is locatable outside the bath.
- 17. The system of claim 15, further comprising a control valve to control the lifting power system to position the seat in a number of locations.
- 18. The system of claim 15, wherein the lifting device transforms the lifting hydraulic pressure into mechanical movement.
- 19. The lifting power system of claim 15 wherein lifting power system further comprises:
a primary cylinder and a secondary cylinder.
- 20. The system of claim 15 wherein the lifting device comprises a hydraulic actuator.
- 21. System adapted for use with a bath having a back and a center, comprising:
a seat; and a guiding assembly for guiding the seat between a lowered position from a position adjacent to the back of the bath and a position away from the back of the bath and between the back and center of the bath when the seat is in a raised position.
- 22. The system of claim 21, further comprising the bath having a side wall, wherein
said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position said guiding assembly moves between said lowered position and said raised laterally offset position from said lowered position towards said side wall of the bath.
- 23. The system of claim 21, wherein the guiding assembly is cantilevered by an arm pivotally connected to the back of the bath.
- 24. The system of claim 21, further comprising a lifting device and the seat having a seat back wherein:
the lifting device and the guiding assembly are substantially covered by the seat back.
- 25. System adapted for use with a bath, comprising:
a seat having a seat back; a guiding assembly for guiding the movement of the seat; and a lifting device for moving the guiding assembly; wherein the seat back substantially covers the guiding assembly and the lifting device, said seat back is movable between an operating position and an access position to allow access to the guiding assembly and the lifting device.
- 26. The system of claim 25 wherein:
the seat is pivoted from the guiding assembly.
- 27. The system of claim 25 further comprising:
a rotation assembly, wherein the rotation assembly is connected to the guiding assembly.
- 28. The system of claim 25, wherein said seat includes a telescopic arm rest.
- 29. System adapted for use with a bath, comprising:
a frame sized to be received in the bath; a seat having a seat back; a guiding assembly connected to the frame and for guiding movement of the seat; and a lifting device for moving the guiding assembly.
- 30. The system of claim 29, wherein:
the lifting device is connected between the guiding assembly and the frame.
- 31. System adapted for use with a bath, comprising:
a seat for moving between a lowered position and raised position in the bath; and a rotation assembly having a rotation axis and attached to the seat, wherein the seat has a center of gravity eccentric from the rotation axis.
- 32. The system of claim 31, further comprising the seat having a rotational path and the bath having a side wall, wherein:
the rotation path of the seat extends over the side wall.
- 33. The system of claim 31, wherein the rotation assembly further comprises:
a rotor having an upper and lower surface, wherein the lower surface is in contact with an antifriction bearing.
- 34. The system of claim 33 wherein the upper surface is in contact with another antifriction bearing.
- 35. System adapted for use with a bath, comprising:
a seat; a lifting device for moving the seat; a lifting power system comprising:
a first surface area for receiving a first pressure; and a second surface area, smaller than the first surface area, for providing a second pressure, wherein
the first surface area is connected to the second surface area, and the second pressure communicates with the lifting device for moving the seat.
- 36. The system of claim 35 wherein each surface area comprises a piston.
- 37. The system of claim 35 wherein the first surface area and the second surface area are connected by a rod.
- 38. The system of claim 35 wherein the first pressure is lower than the second pressure.
- 39. The system of claim 35 wherein the first pressure is equal to standard tap water pressure.
- 40. The system of claim 35 wherein the first pressure is between 50 and 100 PSI.
- 41. The system of claim 35 wherein the second pressure is between 630 and 950 PSI.
- 42. System for a bath, comprising:
a seat; and a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein said lifting device includes a hydraulic lifting actuator having a piston rod and a piston head, and wherein the hydraulic lifting actuator provides a pull force along the piston rod towards the piston head to lower the seat.
- 43. The system of claim 42, wherein the piston head further comprises a piston head rear surface, and wherein high pressure hydraulic fluid communicates with the piston head rear surface.
- 44. System for a bath, comprising:
a seat; a closed hydraulic system for maintaining hydraulic fluid; a pressure generation mechanism to control pressure of the hydraulic fluid; and a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein said lifting device uses the hydraulic pressure to move the seat.
- 45. The system of claim 44, wherein said seat includes a telescopic arm rest.
- 46. The system of claim 44, wherein the pressure generation mechanism comprises an accumulator for controlling the hydraulic pressure.
- 47. The system of claim 44, wherein the pressure generation mechanism further comprises:
a pump for pressurizing the hydraulic fluid; and a pressure switch for controlling operation of the pump.
- 48. The system of claim 44, wherein the pressure generation mechanism includes a hydraulic fluid reservoir.
- 49. The system of claim 44, further comprising:
a remote control system; and a control valve connected to the remote control system for controlling fluid flow between the pressure generation mechanism and the lifting device.
- 50. The system of claim 49, wherein the control valve is a four-way control valve.
- 51. The system of claim 44, wherein the lifting device further comprises a hydraulic lifting actuator having a piston rod and a piston head, and wherein the hydraulic lifting actuator provides a pull force along the piston rod towards the piston head to lower the seat.
- 52. The system of claim 51, wherein the piston head further comprises a piston head rear surface, and wherein high pressure hydraulic fluid communicates with the piston head rear surface.
- 53. System for moving a seat in a bath, the bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath and attached to the wall behind the seat, wherein said guiding assembly moves in a straight line between a lowered position and a raised laterally offset position from the lowered position towards the side wall of the bath; hydraulic fluid; a pressure generation mechanism to control a pressure of the hydraulic fluid; and a lifting device for moving the seat between said raised laterally offset position and said lowered position, wherein said lifting device uses the hydraulic fluid to move the seat.
- 54. The system of claim 53, wherein the pressure generation mechanism includes an accumulator for controlling.
- 55. The system of claim 53, wherein the pressure generation mechanism further comprises:
a pump for pressurizing the hydraulic fluid; and a pressure switch for controlling the operation of the pump.
- 56. The system of claim 53, further comprising:
a remote control system; and a valve connected to the remote control system for controlling fluid flow between the pressure generation mechanism and the lifting device.
- 57. The system of claim 56, wherein the control valve is a four-way control valve.
- 58. System for moving a seat in a bath, the bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath and between the wall behind the seat and the seat; hydraulic fluid; a pressure generation mechanism to control the pressure of the hydraulic fluid; and a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein said lifting device uses the hydraulic fluid to move the seat.
- 59. The system of claim 58, wherein the pressure generation mechanism includes an accumulator.
- 60. The system of claim 58, wherein the pressure generation mechanism further comprises:
a pump for pressurizing the hydraulic fluid; and a pressure switch for controlling the operation of the pump.
- 61. The system of claim 58, further comprising:
a remote control system; and a valve connected to the remote control system for controlling fluid flow between the pressure generation mechanism and the lifting device.
- 62. System for moving a seat in a bath, the bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly disposed within the bath and between the wall behind the seat and the seat; a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position; and a remote control system, wherein said remote control system electronically activates said lifting device.
- 63. The system of claim 62, wherein
said remote control system includes a wireless transmitter and a wireless receiver.
- 64. The system of claim 63, wherein
said wireless transmitter is sealed within a container.
- 65. The system of claim 62, further comprising:
hydraulic fluid; and a pressure generation mechanism to control a pressure of the hydraulic fluid, wherein said lifting device uses the hydraulic fluid to move the seat.
- 66. The system of claim 65, wherein the pressure generation mechanism further comprises an accumulator.
- 67. The system of claim 65, wherein the pressure generation mechanism further comprises:
a pump for pressurizing the hydraulic fluid; and a pressure switch for controlling the operation of the pump.
- 68. The system of claim 65, further comprising:
a valve connected to the remote control system for controlling fluid flow between the pressure generation mechanism and the lifting device.
- 69. The system of claim 62, wherein
said raised position is laterally offset from said lowered position, and said guiding assembly moves in a straight line between said lowered position and said raised laterally offset position from said lowered position towards the side wall of the bath.
- 70. System for moving a seat in a bath, the bath having a side wall and a wall behind the seat, comprising:
a guiding assembly; hydraulic fluid; a lifting device for moving the seat between a raised position and a lowered position, wherein said lifting device uses hydraulic fluid to move the seat; and a pressure generation mechanism to control the hydraulic fluid, wherein said pressure generation mechanism includes:
a pump for pressurizing the hydraulic fluid, and a pump check device.
