Abstract
A bean bag carrier and score tracking assembly for accessorizing a cornhole game set includes a box that defines an interior space. The box has a top that is open so that the top is configured to selectively insert bean bags into the interior space. Each of a pair of rods is coupled to and extends between opposing ends of the box proximate to the top. Each of a plurality of rings is positioned around a respective rod. The ring is positioned to be selectively slid on the respective rod to track a score of a player. A handle is coupled to the box proximate to the top and is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user to lift the box.

The disclosure and prior art relates to score tracking assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new score tracking assembly for accessorizing a cornhole game set.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a box that defines an interior space. The box has a top that is open so that the top is configured to selectively insert bean bags into the interior space. Each of a pair of rods is coupled to and extends between opposing ends of the box proximate to the top. Each of a plurality of rings is positioned around a respective rod. The ring is positioned to be selectively slid on the respective rod to track a score of a player. A handle is coupled to the box proximate to the top and is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user to lift the box.


There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.


The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new score tracking assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.


As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the bean bag carrier and score tracking assembly 10 generally comprises a box 12 that defines an interior space 14. The box 12 has a top 16 that is open so that the top 16 is configured to selectively insert bean bags into the interior space 14. The box 12 is substantially rectangularly box shaped, as shown in FIG. 1. The box 12 comprises wood, plastic, or the like.


Each of a pair of rods 18 is coupled to and extends between opposing ends 20 of the box 12 proximate to the top 16, as shown in FIG. 3. The rods 18 are positioned singly proximate to opposing sides 22 of the box 12. The rods 18 are circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally.


Each of a plurality of rings 24 is positioned around a respective rod 18, as shown in FIG. 3. The plurality of rings 24 comprises forty-three rings 24 that are positioned numerically equally on each rod 18. The ring 24 is positioned to be selectively slid on the respective rod 18 to track a score of a player. Accurately tracking the score of the player can prevent conflict between players as to the actual score of the player.


A handle 26 is coupled to the box 12 proximate to the top, as shown in FIG. 4, 16 and is configured to be grasped in a hand of a user to lift the box 12. The handle 26 comprises a pair of plates 28 and a bar 30. Each plate 28 is coupled by a lower edge 32 to the top 16 of the box 12 and extends coplanarly from a respective opposing end 20 of the box 12, as shown in FIG. 2. The bar 30 is coupled to and extends between the plates 28 distal from the top 16 of the box 12. The bar 30 is configured to be grasped in the hand of the user to lift the box 12.


The lower edge 32 of the plate 28 extends between the opposing sides 22 of the box 12, as shown in FIG. 2. The plate 28 also has an upper edge 34 and opposing side edges 36. The upper edge 34 is dimensionally narrower than the lower edge 32. Each opposing side edge 36 extends arcuately from the lower edge 32 to the upper edge 34. The bar 30 is circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally.


Each of a pair of cutouts 38 extends into a respective opposing side 22 of the box 12 from the top 16, as shown in FIG. 4. The cutouts 38 are arcuate. The cutouts 38 are configured to allow the user to selectively insert the bean bags into the interior space 14.


In use, the handle 26 is used to lift the box 12 and to transport the box 12 and the bean bags to a site where a game of cornhole is to be played. The bean bags are extracted from the interior space 14 through the cutouts 38 or the top 16 of the box 12. The rings 24 are slid on the rods 18 between the opposing ends 20 of the box 12 to track the scores of the players in the game. Upon completion, the bean bags are inserted into the interior space 14.


With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.


Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims
  • 1. A bean bag carrier and score tracking assembly comprising: a box defining an interior space, said box having a top, said top being open wherein said top is configured for selectively inserting bean bags into said interior space;a pair of rods, each said rod being coupled to and extending between opposing ends of said box proximate to said top;a plurality of rings, each said ring being positioned around a respective said rod wherein said ring is positioned for selectively sliding on said respective said rod for tracking a score of a player; anda handle coupled to said box proximate to said top wherein said handle is configured for grasping in a hand of a user for lifting said box.
  • 2. The assembly of claim 1, further including said box being substantially rectangularly box shaped.
  • 3. The assembly of claim 1, further including said box comprising wood.
  • 4. The assembly of claim 1, further including said rods being positioned singly proximate to opposing sides of said box.
  • 5. The assembly of claim 1, further including said rods being circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally.
  • 6. The assembly of claim 1, further including said plurality of rings comprising forty-two said rings positioned numerically equally on each said rod.
  • 7. The assembly of claim 1, further including said handle comprising: a pair of plates, each said plate being coupled by a lower edge to said top of said box and extending coplanarly from a respective said opposing end of said box; anda bar coupled to and extending between said plates distal from said top of said box wherein said bar is configured for grasping in the hand of the user for lifting said box.
  • 8. The assembly of claim 7, further including said lower edge extending between opposing sides of said box, said plate having an upper edge and opposing side edges, said upper edge being dimensionally narrower than said lower edge, each said opposing side edge extending arcuately from said lower edge to said upper edge.
  • 9. The assembly of claim 7, further including said bar being circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally.
  • 10. The assembly of claim 1, further including a pair of cutouts, each said cutout extending into a respective opposing side of said box from said top wherein said cutouts are configured for selectively inserting the bean bags into said interior space.
  • 11. The assembly of claim 10, further including said cutouts being arcuate.
  • 12. A bean bag carrier and score tracking assembly comprising: a box defining an interior space, said box having a top, said top being open wherein said top is configured for selectively inserting bean bags into said interior space, said box being substantially rectangularly box shaped, said box comprising wood;a pair of rods, each said rod being coupled to and extending between opposing ends of said box proximate to said top, said rods being positioned singly proximate to opposing sides of said box, said rods being circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally;a plurality of rings, each said ring being positioned around a respective said rod wherein said ring is positioned for selectively sliding on said respective said rod for tracking a score of a player, said plurality of rings comprising forty-two said rings positioned numerically equally on each said rod;a handle coupled to said box proximate to said top wherein said handle is configured for grasping in a hand of a user for lifting said box, said handle comprising: a pair of plates, each said plate being coupled by a lower edge to said top of said box and extending coplanarly from a respective said opposing end of said box, said lower edge extending between said opposing sides of said box, said plate having an upper edge and opposing side edges, said upper edge being dimensionally narrower than said lower edge, each said opposing side edge extending arcuately from said lower edge to said upper edge, anda bar coupled to and extending between said plates distal from said top of said box wherein said bar is configured for grasping in the hand of the user for lifting said box, said bar being circularly shaped when viewed longitudinally; anda pair of cutouts, each said cutout extending into a respective said opposing side of said box from said top wherein said cutouts are configured for selectively inserting the bean bags into said interior space, said cutouts being arcuate.
