The disclosure relates to game assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new game assembly for entertainment and competition.
The prior art relates to game assemblies.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of panels, which are rectangularly shaped, and a plurality of bags. Each of a pair of braces is coupled to a respective panel proximate to a rear edge of the panel. The brace and a front edge of the respective panel are configured to be positioned on a substantially horizontal surface so that the respective panel is transverse to the substantially horizontal surface with a user selectable separation between the front edges of the panels. Each of a plurality of holes is positioned in a respective panel proximate to the rear edge of the respective panel. The hole is configured to receive a respective bag tossed by a player as part of a tossing game.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
Each of a pair of frames 16, which are rectangularly shaped and sized complementarily to the panels 12, is coupled to and extends perpendicularly from a perimeter 18 of a respective panel 12 so that the frame 16 is positioned to rigidify the respective panel 12.
Each of a pair of braces 20 is coupled to a respective panel 12 proximate to a rear edge 22 of the panel 12. The brace 20 and a front edge 24 of the respective panel 12 are configured to be positioned on a substantially horizontal surface so that the respective panel 12 is transverse to the substantially horizontal surface with a user selectable separation between the front edges 24 of the panels 12.
Each brace 20 comprises a pair of legs 26, as shown in
Each bag 14 defines an interior space 30 that is substantially occupied by a filler 32. The filler 32 is granular and comprises at least one of corn, resin pellets, and beans. The plurality of bags 14 comprises a set of first sacks 34 and a set of second sacks 36. The set of first sacks 34 has at least one of a color, texture, and pattern that is different than at least one of a color, texture, and pattern of the set of second sacks 36 so that the set of first sacks 34 and the set of second sacks 36 are distinguishable. The set of first sacks 34 and the set of second sacks 36 are equivalently numbered. The set of first sacks 34 may comprise four first sacks 34 and the set of second sacks 36 may comprise four second sacks 36, as shown in
Each of a plurality of holes 38 is positioned in a respective panel 12 proximate to the rear edge 22 of the respective panel 12. The hole 38 is configured to receive a respective bag 14 tossed by a player as part of a tossing game. Prior art beanbag tossing game assemblies have panels which each have only one, circularly shaped hole. The present invention provides panels 12 that each may have multiple holes 38, which may be irregularly positioned, and which may have shapes that are not circular.
The plurality of holes 38 comprises from four holes 38, which are positioned two apiece in each panel 12, to eight holes 38, which are positioned four apiece in each panel 12. As shown in
The plurality of holes 38 comprises a pair of first apertures 40, a pair of second apertures 42, and a pair of third apertures 44. Each first aperture 40 is positioned proximate to a first rear corner 46 of a respective panel 12. Each second aperture 42 is positioned proximate to a second rear corner 48 of a respective panel 12. Each third aperture 44 is positioned equally distant from the first rear corner 46 and the second rear corner 48 of a respective panel 12.
The second aperture 42 may be distal to the rear edge 22 relative to an associated first aperture 40 and the third aperture 44 may be distal to the rear edge 22 relative to an associated second aperture 42, as shown in
The third apertures 44, the second apertures 42, and the first apertures 40 may be circularly shaped, as shown in
The assembly 10 also comprises a scoring means 50 that is configured to track a score of a tossing game that is played by a set of players who toss bags 14 from a position proximate to one of the panels 12 toward the other of the panels 12 with points being awarded when a bag 14 passes through a respective hole 38 or comes to rest on an upper surface 52 of the other of the panels 12.
The scoring means 50 comprises a base 54 that is coupled to a bottom 56 of a post 58. The base 54 is configured to support the post 58 substantially vertically relative to the substantially horizontal surface. The base 54 comprises a pair of first planks 60 and a pair of second planks 62. The first planks 60 are coupled singly to a front face 64 and a rear face 66 of the post 58. Each first plank 60 extends past a respective opposing edge 68 of the post 58. The pair of second planks 62 is coupled singly to the opposing edges 68 of the post 58 and extend opposingly from the post 58 so that the pair of first planks 60 and the pair of second planks 62 are coplanar.
A plurality of channels 70 is positioned in the post 58 in a pair of rows 72. Each row 72 extends linearly from proximate to a top 74 toward the bottom 56 of the post 58. The pair of rows 72 is positioned singly in the opposing edges 68 of the post 58. Each row 72 comprises twenty channels 70. Each channel 70 extends angularly into the post 58 so that the channel 70 extends from the opposing edge 68 toward the bottom 56 of the post 58. The plurality of channels 70 also comprises two channels 70 that are positioned in the top 74 of the post 58, as shown in
Indicia 76 are coupled to the post 58, as shown in
The assembly 10 also comprises an instruction 80 that comprises a set of rules 82 to play and scoring the tossing game. For example, the instruction 80 may prescribe a separation of the front edges 24 of the panels 12, a means of selecting the tossing order for the players or teams of players, a means of scoring, including points assigned for each hole 38, and a method for breaking a tie between the players or the teams of players.
In use, the panel 12 are positioned on the substantially horizontal surface with the front edges 24 facing and at a desired or prescribed separation and with the rear edges 22 elevated relative to the front edges 24 by the braces 20. The players then toss the bags 14 from a position proximate to one of the panels 12 toward the other of the panels 12 with points being awarded when a bag 14 passes through a respective hole 38 or comes to rest on the upper surface 52 of the other of the panels 12.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
