As long as there have been beds, there have been ways of adding decorative styles and designs to bedding covers.
Historically, Interior designers and decorators have seen the bed as the centerpiece to the bedroom ensemble and throughout history many design features have been utilized to decorate and adorn bed coverings.

One embodiment of the present invention is a bed covering herein after referring to any covering that lies upon the top of a bed including bed sheets, comforters or like coverings and any combination of bed covering comprising a bed ensemble made of any suitable material.
Wherein the bed cover shall have a plurality of fastening means comprising a first line or row of fasteners extending across the bed covering. Fastening means located in the upper portion of the bed covering.
Bed covering additionally having a plurality of fastening means comprising a second row of fastening means parallel to the first row extending across the bed covering.
Wherein the first row and second row of fasteners aligns in a complementary fashion with the receiving fastening means on the decorative attachment corresponding to the first and second receiving fasteners on the decorative attachment.
The positioning of the fastening means may be in horizontal or vertical alignment with the edge of the bed covering and may allow for the decorative attachment to be positioned in a parallel or perpendicular fashion.
The fastening means may include a plurality of buttons, magnetic clasp, eyelets, hook and loop, zippers, rivets, fit clips, snaps or other commercially available fastening means, wherein said fastening means facilitates a secure attachment of the decorative attachment to the bed covering in a complementary fashion.
Although the said decorative attachment may typically extend in length from one side of the bed covering to the other generally located on the upper portion of the bed covering. The decorative attachment may also extend partially or may consist of more than one decorative attachment.
In any arrangement of fasteners, the decorative attachment shall have a matching plurality of complementary receiving fastening means in alignment with the first and second rows of fastening means affixed to the main bed covering.
Since the decorative attachment is easily removable from the main bed covering it can be changed out for other separate attachments and may be constructed from high quality material not typically used for bed coverings such as velvet, satin, silk, high grade polyester fabrics or other suitable fabric materials.
Additionally, the removable decorative attachment allows for ease of washing the bed covering without damage to the fine silk or like materials that may be used for the decorative attachment. The decorative attachment can also be washed in a gentle way suitable for fine fabrics.
Accordingly, several objects and advantages of the invention are seen in the improvement to the existing art. One advantage is the removable and interchangeable feature allowing for new and different designs to be attached to bed coverings.
A bed covering can now be changed and updated to new design fashions, trends, seasonal adaptation, and color changes associated with a changing or new bedroom appearance.
A second feature is that a more elegant and higher quality material may be used upon the bed covering such as velvet, silk or satin with its unique design features. In the past it would be expensive and difficult to wash such a delicate and fine fabric. The decorative attachment can now be easily removed when the bed covering is washed.
A further feature allows for multiple decorative attachments to be interchangeability mixed and used on the bed covering allowing many variations of style and design. Changes and new styles can also be done quickly with updated home fashions.
An additional configuration of the decorative attachment will allow for smaller sectional pieces in various shapes such as circles, stars, or other popular graphic design shapes to be used in a multitude of different configurations.
Further objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent from consideration of the drawings and ensuing description.
