Claims
- 1. A method for preparing an intermediate having the structure ##STR37## as defined in claim 1, which comprises reacting an oxazolidine of the structure ##STR38## with an alkylated lithium compound to form a lithiated oxazolidine of the structure ##STR39## and reacting the lithiated oxazolidine or the corresponding Grignard reagent ##STR40## with an anhydride of the structure ##STR41## to form the desired intermediate product.
- 2. The method as defined in claim 1 wherein Y is CH.sub.3, Z is C.sub.6 H.sub.5 and X is CH.sub.3.
- 3. The method as defined in claim 1 wherein the starting oxazolidine has the structure ##STR42## which is reacted with an alkylated lithium to form the corresponding tithiated oxazolidine which is reacted with MgBr.sub.2 to form the corresponding Grignard reagent ##STR43##
- 4. The method as defined in claim 1 wherein X is CH.sub.2, Y is CH.sub.3 and Z is C.sub.6 H.sub.5.
- 5. The method as defined in claim 1 wherein the lithiated oxazolidine has the structure ##STR44##
- 6. The method as defined in claim 1 wherein X is CH.sub.3, Y is CH.sub.3 and Z is C.sub.6 H.sub.5.
