Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula (I)
- 2. The compound of claim 1, wherein m is 2.
- 3. The compound of claim 2, wherein n is 1.
- 4. The compound of claim 3, wherein A is:—(CRaRb2)p—.
- 5. The compound of claim 4, wherein p is 0.
- 6. The compound of claim 5, wherein R1 is halo, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, hydroxy, amino or optionally substituted phenyl.
- 7. The compound of claim 5, wherein R1 is chloro, bromo, methoxy, ethyl, isopropenyl, phenyl, 4-hydroxyphenyl or 4-methanesulfonaminophenyl.
- 8. The compound of claim 4, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiozolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 9. The compound of claim 8, wherein R1 is selected from pyrrol-1-yl, 1,3-thiazol-4-yl, 1,3-thiazol-2-yl, 2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl, 2-(piperidin-4-yl-amino)-1,3-thiazol-4-yl, 2-[aminopiperidin-(1-carboxylate allyl ester)-4-yl]-1,3-thiazol-2-yl, 4-chloromethyl-1,3-thiazol-2-yl, 1,3-oxazol-5-yl, oxazol-4-yl, thien-2-yl, 5-bromothien-2-yl, 5-methylthien-2-yl, imidazol-1-yl, imidazol-5-yl, 1-methylimidazol-5-yl, 1-methylimidazol-2-yl, 1,2,4-triazolyl, 2-furyl, pyridin-3-yl, pyridin-2-yl, pyridin-4-yl, 6-methylpyridin-3-yl, 5-methylpyridin-3-yl, 6-methylpyridin-2-yl, pyrazol-5-yl, pyrazol-1-yl and 1-methylpyrazol-3-yl.
- 10. The compound of claim 4, wherein R1 is a heterocyclyl selected from from morpholinyl, piperazinyl, piperidinyl, pyrrolidinyl, thiomorpholinyl, thiazinanyl, oxidothiomorpholinyl, dioxidothiomorpholinyl, oxidothiazinanyl, dioxidothiazinanyl, and 1,1,3-trioxidothiomorpholinyl.

The compound of claim 10, wherein R1 is piperidin-4-yl, pyrrolidin-1-yl, piperidin-(1-carboxylate allyl ester)-4-yl, morpholin-4-yl, piperazin-1-yl, 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl, 4-n-propylpiperazin-1-yl, 4-isopropylpiperazin-1-yl, 4-benzylpiperazin-1-yl, piperidin-1-yl, 1-n-propylpiperidin-4-yl, 1-ethylpiperidin-4-yl, 1-(2-methoxyethyl)piperidin-4-yl, 4-(1,1,4-trioxidothiomorpholin-4-yl), 4-(1,1-dioxido-1,2-thiazinan-2-yl and 4-(1,1-dioxidothiomorpholin-4-yl).
- 12. The compound of claim 5, wherein R1 is —NRdS(O)q—Re and wherein Rd is hydrogen, q is 2 and Re is methyl or 4-methylphenyl.
- 13. The compound of claim 4, wherein p is 1.
- 14. The compound of claim 13, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, triazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 15. The compound of claim 14, wherein R1 is 5-methylpyridin-3-yl or imdazol-1-yl.
- 16. The compound of claim 4, wherein p is 2.
- 17. The compound of claim 16, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 18. The compound of claim 16, wherein R1 is —NRdS(O)q—Re and wherein Rd is hydrogen, q is 2 and Re is methyl.
- 19. The compound of claim 16, wherein R1 is a heterocyclyl selected from morpholinyl, piperazinyl, piperidinyl, pyrrolidinyl, thiomorpholinyl, thiazinanyl, oxidothiomorpholinyl, dioxidothiomorpholinyl, oxidothiazinanyl, dioxidothiazinanyl, and 1,1,3-trioxidothiomorpholinyl.
- 20. The compound of claim 4, wherein p is 3.
- 21. The compound of claim 20 wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 22. The compound of claim 21, wherein R1 is pyridin-3-yl, pyridin-4-yl or imidazol-1-yl.
- 23. The compound of claim 1, wherein A is —O—(CRaRb2)s—.
- 24. The compound of claim 23, wherein s is 0.
- 25. The compound of claim 24, wherein R1 is optionally substituted phenyl.
- 26. The compound of claim 25, wherein R1 is 4-methanesulfonylaminophenyl.
- 27. The compound of claim 24, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 28. The compound of claim 27, wherein R1 is 4-methylpyridin-3-yl.
- 29. The compound of claim 23 wherein s is 2.
- 30. The compound of claim 29, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 31. The compound of claim 30, wherein R1 is pyridin-2-yl, pyridin-3-yl, pyridin-4-yl, pyrrol-1-yl, or imidazol-1-yl,
- 32. The compound of claim 29, wherein R1 is a heterocyclyl selected from morpholinyl, piperazinyl, piperidinyl, pyrrolidinyl, thiomorpholinyl, thiazinanyl, oxidothiomorpholinyl, dioxidothiomorpholinyl, oxidothiazinanyl, dioxidothiazinanyl, and 1,1,3-trioxidothiomorpholinyl.
- 33. The compound of claim 32, wherein R1 is morpholin-4-yl, piperidin-1-yl, piperazin-1-yl and 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl.
- 34. The compound of claim 23 wherein s is 3.
- 35. The compound of claim 34, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 36. The compound of claim 35, wherein R1 is pyridin-4-yl, pyridin-3-yl or pyridine-2-yl.
- 37. The compound of claim 5, wherein R1 is —NRdS(O)q—Re and wherein Rd is hydrogen, q is 2 and Re is 4-pyridin-1-yl.
- 38. The compound of claim 1, wherein A is —NRc—(CRaRb2)t—.
- 39. The compound of claim 38 wherein t is 1.
- 40. The compound of claim 39, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 41. The compound of claim 40, wherein R1 is pyridin-3-yl, 5-methylthien-2-yl, 1,3-thiazol-2-yl, pyrazol-1-yl, 2-furyl, imidazol-1-yl and 1-methylimidazol-2-yl.
- 42. The compound of claim 39, wherein R1 is optionally substituted phenyl.
- 43. The compound of claim 42, wherein R1 is 4-methoxyphenyl.
- 44. The compound of claim 38, wherein t is 2.
- 45. The compound of claim 44, wherein R1 is a heteroaryl selected from pyrolyl, thiazolyl, oxazolyl, thienyl, imidazolyl, triazolyl, furyl, pyridinyl, and pyrazolyl.
- 46. The compound of claim 44, wherein R1 is a heterocyclyl selected from morpholinyl, piperazinyl, piperidinyl, pyrrolidinyl, thiomorpholinyl, thiazinanyl, oxidothiomorpholinyl, dioxidothiomorpholinyl, oxidothiazinanyl; dioxidothiazinanyl, and 1,1,3-trioxidothiomorpholinyl.
- 47. The compound of claim 46, wherein R1 is morpholin-4-yl.
- 48. The compound of claim 38, wherein t is 3.
- 49. The compound of claim 48, wherein R1 is pyridin-3-yl, 5-methylthien-2-yl, 1,3-thiazol-2-yl, pyrazol-1-yl, 2-furyl, imidazol-1-yl and 1-methylimidazol-2-yl.

- 70. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and/or adjuvant.
- 71. A method for the treatment of osteoporosis, tumor metastasis, instable angina pectoris and/or plaque rupture, which method comprises administering a compound of claim 1 to a human being or animal.
- 72. A method for the treatment of osteoporosis, tumor metastasis, instable angina pectoris and/or plaque rupture, comprising adminstering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a compound of claim 1 in combination with an effective amount of a phosphonic acid or phosphonic ester selected from alendronic acid, cimadronic acid, clodronic acid, tiludronic acid, etidronic acid, ibandronic acid, risedroriic acid, pyridronic acid, pamidronic acid, zolendronic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, or mixture thereof.
- 73. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of claim 1 and a phosphonic acid or phosphonic ester selected from alendronic acid, cimadronic acid, clodronic acid, tiludronic acid, etidronic acid, ibandronic acid, risedronic acid, pyridronic acid, pamidronic acid, zolendronic acid, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or solvate thereof, or mixture thereof.
