Claims
- 1. In combination with a beverage-making device of the type having a hot water container positioned interiorly of a housing, the container having a bottom wall with a drain hole therethrough, means for conveying cold water to the container and outlet means for discharging hot water therefrom, a bottom drain system disengageably secured to the bottom wall of the container at said drain hole, said drain system including a drain fitting having a flanged seat arranged interiorly of the container and directly bearing upon the bottom wall around said drain hole, said fitting further including a threaded stem depending from said flanged seat, said fitting having a bore extending therethrough, a sealing ring arranged around said threaded stem and adapted to contact the undersurface of the container bottom wall, a coupling means having a threaded bore capable of thread engagement with said stem whereby to be capable of pressing said sealing ring against the undersurface of said container bottom wall wherein said drain hole and threaded stem include corresponding flat sides to prevent rotation of said fitting during threading engagement and disengagement with said coupling means, said coupling means being connected to a coupling assembly, said coupling assembly terminating at a connection with a valve means, said valve means being disposed generally adjacent said housing, whereby said hot water container may be drained upon opening said valve means.
- 2. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said container bottom wall includes an annular bevel around said drain hole whereby said flanged seat of the drain fitting bears flushly within said bevel upon the bottom wall.
- 3. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said drain fitting, coupling means, coupling assembly and valve means thread engage, wherein the coupling means, coupling assembly and valve means are removable as a unit from the drain fitting.
- 4. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said coupling means is elbow-shaped, and said coupling assembly and valve means extend horizontally from said drain hole to arrange said valve means at said housing.
- 5. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said valve means comprises a manually operable drain cock.
- 6. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said drain hole is centrally located through the bottom of said hot water container.
- 7. The combination as in claim 1 wherein said flanged seat is bevelled and the container bottom wall has a cooperatively depressed annular bevel around said drain hole whereby the bevelled flanged seat bears flushly within said bevel upon the bottom wall.
