The present invention relates generally to drinking vessels and more specifically to a beverage mixing container with magnetic attachment and sealing lid, which allows powder to be mixed with a liquid in the same magnetic beverage container.
Patent publication no. 2005/0056655 to Gary discloses a magnetic beverage holder. U.S. Pat. No. 8,695,830 to Meyers et al. discloses a container lid having independently pivoting flip top and lid.
Accordingly, there is a clearly felt need in the art for a beverage mixing container with magnetic attachment and sealing lid, which includes at least one magnetic projection, which is long enough to allow a user to wrap their fingers around the beverage container for controlling attachment or removal to a metallic object, or clearance for attaching an object to the magnetic beverage container, the extra space between the magnetic beverage container and a metal surface also provides leverage for attachment or removal; and allows a powder to be mixed with a liquid in the same magnetic beverage container.
The present invention provides a beverage mixing container with magnetic attachment and sealing lid, which includes at least one magnetic projection, which allows a hand to wrap around the magnetic beverage container for removal or attachment. The beverage mixing container with magnetic attachment and sealing lid (magnetic beverage container) preferably includes a container member and a removable cap. The container member includes a cup portion and at least one magnet. At least one magnet boss extends from a side wall of the cup portion. The at least one magnet boss is molded as an integral portion of the cup portion. The at least one magnet is molded into the at least one magnet boss. A length or height of the at least one magnet boss is greater than a thickness of fingers to provide better control to a hand to grasp the magnetic beverage container to attach and remove thereof from a metal mounting surface. Further, a second magnet boss may be used to attach a cell phone or the like to the magnet boss. If the cell phone or object does not have a ferrous metal body, a self-adhesive ferrous metal plate may be provided. The ferrous metal plate includes an outer perimeter, which is less than an outer perimeter of the cell phone. A pressure sensitive adhesive is applied to one side of the ferrous metal plate. A protective label is attached to the pressure sensitive adhesive.
An open perimeter end of the cup portion is preferably threaded to allow threadable engagement with the removable cap. At least one inward extending protrusion is formed in the side wall of the cup portion. The inward extending protrusion enables a powder to be mixed with the liquid. The at least one inward extending protrusion is molded as an integral portion of the cup portion. The at least one inward extending protrusion is preferably angled to provide a maximum mixing effect.
The removable cap preferably includes a cap portion and a sealing lid. The cap portion preferably includes a cylinder base and a dome shaped cover. The dome shaped cover extends from a top of the cylinder base. A lid yoke is formed in one end of the dome shaped cover and a drink spout is formed in an opposing end of the dome shaped cover. A pivot hole is formed through the lid yoke to receive the sealing lid. The sealing lid preferably includes a flip lid, two opposing pivot members and a sealing member. The flip lid includes a substantial U-shape. One end of the flip lid extends from one end of a first pivot member and an opposing end of the flip lid extends from one end of a second pivot member. The sealing member extends from opposing ends of the first and second pivot members. Each pivot member includes an outward extending pivot projection and a pair of outward extending locking projections, formed on opposing ends of the pivot projection. The pair of locking projections hold the sealing lid in a substantially vertical orientation, when drinking from the magnetic beverage container. The sealing member preferably includes a spout seal and a spout covering sleeve. The spout seal extends downward from the sealing member and the spout covering sleeve extends downward from the sealing member. The spout seal is concentric with the spout covering sleeve. An inner perimeter of the drinking spout is sized to receive spout seal and an inner perimeter of the spout cover sleeve is sized to receive an outer diameter of the drink spout.
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a magnetic beverage container, which includes at least one magnetic projection, which is long enough to allow a user to wrap their fingers around the magnetic beverage container for controlling attachment or removal to a metallic object, or clearance for attaching an object to the magnetic beverage container, the extra space between the magnetic beverage container and a metal surface also provides leverage for attachment or removal.
Finally, it is an object of the present invention to provide a magnetic beverage container, which enables a powder to be mixed with a liquid in the same magnetic beverage container.
These and additional objects, advantages, features and benefits of the present invention will become apparent from the following specification.
With reference to
An open perimeter end 24 of the cup portion 14 preferably includes threads 26 to allow threadable engagement with the removable cap 12. At least one inward extending protrusion 28 is formed in the side wall 20 of the cup portion 14. The inward extending protrusion 28 enables a powder to be mixed with a liquid in the cup portion 14. The at least one inward extending protrusion 28 is molded as an integral portion of the cup portion 14. The at least one inward extending protrusion 28 is preferably angled relative to a longitudinal axis of said cup portion to provide a maximum mixing effect.
The removable cap 12 preferably includes a cap portion 30 and a sealing lid 32. The cap portion 30 preferably includes a cylinder base 34 and a dome shaped cover 36. The dome shaped cover 36 extends from a top of the cylinder base 34. A lid yoke 38 is formed in one end of the dome shaped cover 36 and a drink spout 40 is formed in an opposing end of the dome shaped cover 36. A pivot hole 42 is formed through the lid yoke 38 to receive the sealing lid 32. The sealing lid 32 preferably includes a flip lid 44, two opposing pivot members 46, 48 and a sealing member 50. The flip lid 44 includes a substantial U-shape. One end of the flip lid 44 extends from one end of a first pivot member 46 and an opposing end of the flip lid 44 extends from one end of a second pivot member 48. The sealing member 50 extends from opposing ends of the first and second pivot members 46, 48. Each pivot member 46, 48 includes an outward extending pivot projection 52 and a pair of outward extending locking projections 54, formed on opposing ends of the pivot projection 46, 48. The pair of locking projections 54 hold the sealing lid 32 upward, when drinking from the drink spout 40. The sealing member 50 preferably includes a spout seal 56 and a spout covering sleeve 58. The spout seal 56 extends downward from the sealing member 50 and the spout covering sleeve 58 extends downward from the sealing member 50. The spout seal 56 is concentric with the spout covering sleeve 58. An inner perimeter of the drinking spout 40 is sized to receive the spout seal 56 and an inner perimeter of the spout cover sleeve 58 is sized to receive an outer diameter of the drink spout 40.
While particular embodiments of the invention have been shown and described, it will be obvious to those skilled in the art that changes and modifications may be made without departing from the invention in its broader aspects, and therefore, the aim in the appended claims is to cover all such changes and modifications as fall within the true spirit and scope of the invention.
