Claims
- 1. A paint roller cover, comprising, in combination:
- a. a cylindrical support;
- b. a fibrous nap engaged on the support, with the fibrous nap capable of picking up and spreading paint for painting a surface; and
- c. an embossed pattern formed in the fibrous nap, the pattern comprising relatively raised portions extending for less than 360 degrees about the cylindrical support with at least some of the relatively raised portions shaped differently from other of the relatively raised portions.
- 2. The paint roller cover according to claim 1, wherein the embossed pattern is formed by melting the fibrous nap.
- 3. The paint roller cover according to claim 1 in combination with a paint roller, with the paint roller comprising a frame, wherein the frame comprises a proximal portion having a handle and a distal end portion, and further comprising a base between the cylindrical support and the distal end portion, with the base rotatably engaged to the distal end portion, and with the cylindrical support being frictionally engaged to the base and slideable on and off of the base whereby the paint roller cover is removable relative to the paint roller.
- 4. The combination according to claim 3, wherein the paint roller comprises a bifurcated paint roller wherein the cylindrical support comprises a first cylindrical support, the fibrous nap comprises a first fibrous nap, the base comprises a first base, and the distal end portion comprises a first and a second distal end section, the bifurcated paint roller further comprises a second base, a second cylindrical support, and a second fibrous nap with an embossed pattern, wherein the first and second bases are respectively rotatably engaged on the first and second distal end sections, and wherein the first and second fibrous naps each comprise inner ends which are spaced from each other and are disposed transversely of each other.
- 5. The combination according to claim 4, wherein the embossed pattern of the second fibrous nap comprises relatively raised portions extending for less than 360 degrees about the second cylindrical support.
- 6. The paint roller cover according to claim 1, wherein at least some of the relatively raised portions of the embossed pattern are shaped generally the same as other of the relatively raised portions.
