Abstract
A billiards chalk assembly includes a case with an open top through which a chalk piece is received and located in opposite to the open top of the case. A cover has a hole defined through a top thereof so that a billiards tip is inserted in the hole and contact the chalk piece. The case is movably received in the cover from an open bottom of the cover so that the rubbing plate can be accessible via the open bottom of the cover.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a billiards chalk assembly having a chalk received in a case and a metal rubbing plate is accessible from a side of the case to rub the tip of the billiard cue.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional billiard cue generally includes a shaft and a tip which is made of leather and is used to hit the balls. Billiards players have to often chalk the tip to promote friction when striking the balls so as to maintain good control over the billiards cue during the shot. The tip is made to have a rough surface so that the chalk is attached thereon. The roughness of the tip can be kept by rubbing it on a rubbing piece. Nevertheless, the conventional billiards chalk is simply composed of a piece of chalk received in a case and the players have to prepare their own rubbing pieces. Even if some players prepare their own billiards chalks and rubbing pieces, the billiards chalks and rubbing pieces are two different items and inconvenient to store.

The present invention intends to provide a billiards chalk assembly that includes a chalk received in the case and a metal rubbing plate can be assessable from one side of the case.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a billiards chalk assembly that comprises a case having an open top so as to received a chalk piece therein and a rubbing plate is connected to an outside of the case. A cover is mounted to the case and has a hole defined through a top thereof so that the top surface of the chalk piece is accessible from the hole of the cover. The rubbing plate can be accessible from an open bottom of the cover.

The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is an exploded view to show the billiards chalk assembly of the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view to show that the case is received in the cover, and

FIG. 3 shows that the rubbing plate can b e accessible from the open bottom of the cover.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the billiards chalk assembly of the present invention comprises a case 10 having a bottom and four sidewalls connected to four sides of the bottom, and an open top 11. A chalk piece 30 is received in the case 10 from the open top 11 and a top surface of the chalk piece 30 extending from the open top 11 of the case 10. A rubbing plate 12 is connected to an outside of the bottom of the case 10 and located opposite to the open top of the case 10. The outside of the case 10 includes a recess defined therein and a groove is defined in a surface of the recess. A periphery of the rubbing plate 12 is engaged with the groove. The connection of the rubbing plate 12 and the case 10 can be made when manufacture.

A cover 20 has a hole 21 defined through a top thereof and an open bottom through which the case 10 is movably received in the cover 20. The top surface of the chalk piece 30 contacts an inside of the top of the cover 20 and the rubbing plate 12 can be accessible from the open bottom of the cover 20.

It is noted that the height of the case 10 is made to be only two third of the height of the cover 20 so that when the chalk piece 30 is worn out, the user may push the case 10 from the open bottom of the cover 20 to always contact the top surface of the chalk piece 30 against the inside of the top of the cover 20.

While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
