Abstract
The Binder Winder is utilized to neatly store a cut quilt binding until ready for installation onto a finished quilt. It was developed to provide a durable safe alternative to flimsy cardboard tubes upon which quilters have relied upon to store their quilt bindings.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The Binder Winder was devolved and designed to alleviate the problem of storing a quilt binding during the construction of a quilt. In order to assure the consistently of the fabric dye lots, the quilt binding is generally cut prior to assembling the quilt. Quilt assembly can take many weeks, or months, and the Binder Winder assures that the binding can be store neatly until needed.

DETAIL DESCRIPTION

The Binder Winder is utilized to neatly store a cut quilt binding until ready for installation onto a finished quilt. It consists of two flat outer edge pieces connected by two round dowel pieces. The cut quilt binding is then rapped around the inner dowels and the fabric binding material is held in place by the flat outer pieces. Once the binding is ready to be installed, the Binder Winder can be turned and rotated to let out the binding as it is being pinned in place. The Binder Winder was developed to provide a durable safe alternative to flimsy cardboard tubes upon which quilters have relied upon to store their quilt bindings. In addition to the storage of quilt bindings, the Binder Winder maybe utilized to store ribbons, roping, wire or anything which may become tangled during storage.

Claims
  • 1) The Binder Winder comprising of two flat elongated outer pieces having rounded ends and rounded edges; and connected by two round dowels at either end of the flat elongated outer pieces forming a complete unit to store and dispense cut quilt binding.
