Claims
- 1. An apparatus comprising:
a snowboard having a tip, a tail, a pair of metal edges and a longitudinal centerline extending in a tip-to-tail direction substantially equidistant between the edges; and at least three attachment features fixed in place and equally spaced along the longitudinal centerline of the snowboard, the attachment features adapted to attach a snowboard binding to the snowboard.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the attachment features are threaded inserts fixed to the snowboard.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the attachment features are arranged in two spaced groups along the longitudinal centerline, the attachment features within each one of the groups being equally spaced from adjacent attachment features in the one of the groups, the closest attachment features in different groups being spaced further than adjacent attachment features within a group.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the attachment features are spaced approximately 25 millimeters from adjacent attachment features within a same group.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the attachment features are arranged to provide at least three attachment feature patterns that each provides a binding mounting position for the snowboard binding, the at least three attachment feature patterns providing a first mounting position, a second mounting position adjacent the first mounting position, and a third mounting position adjacent the second mounting position, wherein the first and third mounting positions share one of the attachment features.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein substantially all of the attachment features fixed to the snowboard are arranged along the longitudinal centerline.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein all of the attachment features fixed to the snowboard are arranged along the longitudinal centerline.
- 8. An apparatus comprising:
a snowboard having a tip, a tail, and metal edges; and a plurality of attachment features including at least three attachment features adapted to attach a snowboard binding to the snowboard, all of the attachment features being disposed on a single line extending in a tip-to-tail direction.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the single line of attachment features includes at least five attachment features.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the attachment features are threaded inserts fixed to the snowboard.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein at least one of the attachment features is spaced approximately 25 millimeters from two adjacent attachment features in the single line.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the attachment features are arranged in two spaced groups along the single line, the attachment features within each one of the groups being equally spaced from adjacent attachment features in the one of the groups, the closest attachment features in different groups being spaced further than adjacent attachment features within a group.
- 13. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the attachment features are arranged to provide at least three attachment feature patterns that each provides a binding mounting position for the snowboard binding, the at least three attachment feature patterns providing a first mounting position, a second mounting position adjacent the first mounting position, and a third mounting position adjacent the second mounting position, wherein the first and third mounting positions share one of the attachment features.
- 14. The apparatus of claim 8, wherein the single line of attachment features is arranged along a longitudinal centerline of the snowboard, the longitudinal centerline being substantially equidistant from the edges.
- 15. An apparatus comprising:
a snowboard having a tip, a tail, a pair of edges, and a longitudinal centerline extending in a tip-to-tail direction substantially equidistant between the edges; a first group of threaded inserts fixed to the snowboard to attach a first snowboard binding to the snowboard, each insert in the first group spaced an integer multiple of 25 millimeters from every other insert in the first group; and a second group of threaded inserts to attach a second snowboard binding to the snowboard, each insert in the second group spaced an integer multiple of 25 millimeters from every other insert in the second group.
- 16. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the first and second groups of threaded inserts are spaced from each other and are colinear.
- 17. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein the first group of threaded inserts is arranged to provide at least three attachment feature patterns that each provides a binding mounting position for the snowboard binding, the at least three attachment feature patterns providing a first mounting position, a second mounting position adjacent the first mounting position, and a third mounting position adjacent the second mounting position, wherein the first and third mounting positions share one of the threaded inserts.
- 18. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein substantially all of the threaded inserts fixed to the snowboard are arranged along the longitudinal centerline.
- 19. The apparatus of claim 15, wherein all of the threaded inserts fixed to the snowboard are arranged along the longitudinal centerline.
