Claims
- 1. A compound having the general structural formula ##STR20## wherein X is Cl or Br; R is a straight or branched chain alkyl radical containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is --C.sub.7 H.sub.15 R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently alkyl containing 1 to 2 carbon atoms; and R.sub.5 is divalent alkylene containing 2 to 3 carbon atoms.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is --n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is C.sub.2 H.sub.5, R.sub.4 is C.sub.2 H.sub.5, and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
- 3. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is Br, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3, and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
- 4. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3, and R.sub.5 is ##STR21##
- 5. The compound of claim 1 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3, and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
- 6. A method of controlling a microorganism selected from bacteria and fungi which comprises applying to the locus where such control is desired an effective amount of a compound having the general structural formula ##STR22## wherein X is Cl or Br; R is a straight or branched chain alkyl radical containing 7 to 12 carbon atoms; R.sub.2 is --C.sub.7 H.sub.15 ; R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently alkyl containing 1 to 2 carbon atoms; and R.sub.5 is divalent alkylene containing 2 to 3 carbon atoms.
- 7. The method of claim 6 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is --n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is C.sub.2 H.sub.5, R.sub.4 is C.sub.2 H.sub.5, and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
- 8. The method of claim 6 wherein X is Br, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3, and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
- 9. The method of claim 6 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3, and R.sub.5 is ##STR23##
- 10. The method of claim 6 wherein X is Cl, R is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15 --, R.sub.2 is n--C.sub.7 H.sub.15, R.sub.3 is CH.sub.3, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3 and R.sub.5 is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --.
