Claims
- 1. A method for drawing a biological sample using a manual or automatic suction-discharge device, built into an automated device or not, which comprises the following steps:actuating a means for creating a pressure variation and/or a flow of air within a manual or automatic suction-discharge device, positioning a lower free end of said suction-discharge device in such a way that it is flush with a free surface of a biological sample, measuring an overpressure within the suction-discharge device, due to the flushness of the lower free surface of said device with the free surface of the biological sample, and drawing a quantity of said sample by suction by means of the device while flush with said free surface, thus minimizing the amount of sample contacting the outside side walls of said suction-discharge device.
- 2. The method of claim 1, whereina suction-discharge volume variation ranges from a few nanoliters (nl) to a few microliters (μl); a constant air pressure variation, otherwise referred to as frequency, ranges from a few Hertz to a few hundred Hertz (Hz); or both.
- 3. The method of claim 1, wherein said flow of air ranges from 10 to 50 μl per second.
- 4. The method of claim 3, wherein said flow of air ranges from 20 to 30 μl per second.
- 5. A manual or automatic sampling device used to draw a biological sample, built into an automated device or not, comprising:at least a means for creating a pressure variation or a flow of air within a manual or automatic suction-discharge device when not operating, at least a pressure sensor for measuring the pressure variation when not operating or a pressure different from this pressure variation, or a pressure different from the pressure created by the air flow within the suction-discharge device, and means for analyzing measurement parameters from said pressure sensor so as to control a sampling operation in which a lower free end of said suction-discharge device comes into flush contact with a free surface of a biological sample so as to minimize the amount of sample contacting the outside side walls of said suction-discharge device.
- 6. The device of claim 5, wherein the means for creating a pressure variation comprises a flexible tube which can be compressed and decompressed regularly by any mechanism creating an alternating movement.
- 7. The device of claim 5, wherein the means for creating an air flow comprises a piston of a pipette.
- 8. The device of claim 5, wherein said lower free end of the suction-discharge device comprises a disposable tip.
