Claims
- 1. A compound having the formula:
- A--B--C
- wherein A is a group having the structure ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are hydrogen, chloro, bromo, lower alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, lower alkylphenyl, phenyl-substituted-phenyl, alkoxy, carboalkoxy;
- I is the same as R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 and is present on all positions of the benzenoid ring, except the carbon atom attached to the heterocyclic ring and the carbon atom attached to the B group connecting the heterocyclic aromatic A group with the aromatic C group, wherein B is a linking group connecting A and C and is oxy, carbonyloxy, oxycarbonylalkyleneoxy, alkyleneoxycarbonyloxy, oxyalkylenecarbonyloxy, oxycarbonyloxy, alkyleneoxy, oxyalkylene, alkyleneoxyalkyleneoxy, oxyalkylenephenylenealkyleneoxy, thio, thioalkyleneoxy, sulfinyldioxy, oxy(alkoxy)phosphinooxy, carbonylamino, N-alkylcarbonylamino, N-phenylcarbonylamino, aminocarbonylalkyleneoxy, N-alkylaminocarbonylalkyleneoxy, N-phenylaminocarbonylalkyleneoxy, aminocarbonylamino, N-alkylaminocarbonylamino, N-alkylamino, N-phenylamino, N-alkylaminoalkyleneoxy, N-phenylaminoalkyleneoxy, oxyalkyleneoxy, oxyphenyleneoxy, and
- wherein C is a group having the formula ##STR7## where I is the same substituent as listed above and is present in all positions of the benzenoid rings except the carbon atom attached to the B group connecting the A and C moieties, and said I substituents can all be one of the substituents listed above or different listed substituents.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is carbonyloxy.
- 3. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxycarbonylalkyleneoxy.
- 4. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is alkyleneoxycarbonyloxy.
- 5. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxyalkylenecarbonyloxy.
- 6. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxycarbonyloxy.
- 7. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is alkyleneoxy.
- 8. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxyalkylene.
- 9. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is alkyleneoxyalkyleneoxy.
- 10. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxyalkylenephenylenealkyleneoxy.
- 11. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is thio.
- 12. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is thioalkyleneoxy.
- 13. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is sulfinyldioxy.
- 14. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxy(alkoxy)phosphinooxy.
- 15. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is carbonylamino.
- 16. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-alkylcarbonylamino.
- 17. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-phenylcarbonylamino.
- 18. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is aminocarbonylalkyleneoxy.
- 19. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-alkylaminocarbonylalkyleneoxy.
- 20. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-phenylaminocarbonylalkyleneoxy.
- 21. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is aminocarbonylamino.
- 22. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-alkylaminocarbonylamino.
- 23. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is amino.
- 24. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-alkylamino.
- 25. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-phenylamino.
- 26. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-alkylaminoalkyleneoxy.
- 27. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is N-phenylaminoalkyleneoxy.
- 28. A compound according to claim 1 wherein said B linking group is oxyalkyleneoxy.
