Claims
- 1. Coextrusions for producing film characterized by a nearly constant peel strength over an extended heat seal temperature range, made from a molecular blend of polymeric materials comprising:
- (a) 80-93 weight percent of an ethylene/acid ionomer, and
- (b) 7-20 weight percent of a propylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer, wherein the .alpha.-olefin comprises 1-12 weight percent of the copolymer, and wherein said coextrusion further comprises at least one extrudable material other than said molecular blend.
- 2. Laminates made from the coextrusions of claim 1.
- 3. Laminates characterized by a nearly constant peel strength over an extended heat seal temperature range, made from a molecular blend of polymeric materials comprising:
- (a) 80-93 weight percent of an ethylene/acid ionomer, and
- (b) 7-20 weight percent of a propylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer, wherein the .alpha.-olefin comprises 1-12 weight percent of the copolymer, and wherein said laminate further comprises a substrate other than said molecular blend.
- 4. Packages having peelable seals characterized by a nearly constant peel strength over an extended heat seal temperature range made from a molecular blend of polymeric materials comprising:
- (a) 80-93 weight percent of an ethylene/acid ionomer, and
- (b) 7-20 weight percent of a propylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer, wherein the .alpha.-olefin comprises 1--12 weight percent of the copolymer.
