Claims
- 1. Coupling connectable to an access of an apparatus for the treatment of blood or plasma by extracorporeal circulation, the apparatus having a blood compartment with at least one inner surface intended to be coated, after sterillization, with at least one molecular layer of a substance soluble in an aqueous solution capable of increasing biocompatibility of the at least one inner surface, wherein a determined quantity of the substance is deposited inside the coupling, in a form such that the substance is capable of undergoing, substantially without deterioration, an irradiation capable of sterilizing the coupling, the determined quantity of the substance being selected such that the circulation of a determined volume of aqueous solution from the coupling through the blood compartment should result in the formation, by durable bonding, of at least one molecular layer of the substance on the at least one inner surface of the blood compartment.
- 2. Coupling according to claim 1, wherein said at least one inner surface comprises one side of a membrane manufactured from an acrylonitrile copolymer, and wherein the substance is polyethyleneimine.
- 3. Coupling according to claim 2, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of between approximately 10 and approximately 2000 k dalton.
- 4. Coupling according to claim 3, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of 25 k dalton.
- 5. Coupling according to claim 3, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of 750 k dalton.
- 6. Coupling according to claim 3, wherein the quantity of polyethyleneimine of molecular mass of 25 K Dalton deposited proximate one or each of the accesses is between approximately 5 mg and approximately 10 mg per m2.
- 7. Coupling according to claim 1, wherein the determined quantity of the substance is in the form of a drop of gel of the substance.
- 8. Coupling according to claim 1, wherein the determined quantity of the substance is in the form of a drop of a matrix material in which the substance is incorporated.
- 9. Coupling according to claim 1, wherein the inner surface to be coated has negative charges, and wherein the substance is cationic, with the result that a molecular layer of the substance masks the negative charges.
- 10. Coupling flow-connectable to a blood compartment having at least one inner surface for contacting blood during a treatment session, the coupling comprising:a housing configured to be flow connected to the blood compartment; and a determined quantity of substance contained within the housing, the substance being capable of undergoing, substantially without deterioration, an irradiation capable of sterilizing the coupling, and wherein the determined quantity is selected to form, on said at least one inner surface, at least one molecular layer of the substance when the determined quantity of the substance is circulated through the blood compartment in a solution.
- 11. Coupling according to claim 10, wherein said at least one inner surface includes a membrane and wherein the determined quantity of substance is selected to form said at least one molecular layer on the membrane.
- 12. Coupling according to claim 11, wherein the membrane includes an acrylonitrile copolymer and the substance includes polyethyleneimine.
- 13. Coupling according to claim 12, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of between approximately 10 and approximately 2000 k dalton.
- 14. Coupling according to claim 12, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of 25 k dalton.
- 15. Coupling according to claim 12, wherein the polyethyleneimine has a molecular mass of 750 k dalton.
- 16. Coupling according to claim 12, wherein the quantity of polyethyleneimine of molecular mass of 25 k dalton deposited proximate one or each of the accesses is between approximately 5 mg and approximately 10 mg per m2 of active membrane.
- 17. Coupling according to claim 10, wherein the determined quantity of substance is in the form of a gel.
- 18. Coupling according to claim 10, wherein the determined quantity of substance is in the form of a matrix material in which the substance is incorporated.
- 19. Coupling according to claim 10, wherein the inner surface to be coated has negative charges, wherein the substance is cationic, and wherein the substance is chosen so that a molecular layer of the substance masks the negative charges of the surface.
