The present invention relates generally to the field of board games. More specifically, the present invention relates to a drinking board game that incorporates drinking beverages (such as alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages), especially providing fun and entertainment for individuals while consuming alcoholic beverages with others on an occasion such as birthday parties, tailgates, campsites, social get-togethers, and much more. The game is played like a conventional board game by rolling a pair of dice and using “Risky Venture” cards that allow players to substitute drinking with a daring task (i.e., “Risky Venture”). Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
By way of background, drinking games are enjoyed by individuals who love drinking and socializing. Drinking games strengthen bonds between individuals while socializing and enjoying drinking. Individuals often play conventional drinking games like beer pong or flip cup that require a high level of hand-eye coordination. Individuals who like to drink a lot and like to drink while sitting may not enjoy such games. Further, individuals have now become bored by constantly playing the same games and desire a new drinking game that is not only entertaining but easy to play.
Many drinking games may not be able to include more than just a couple of individuals at once that potentially makes others feel left out. This may result in formation of a plurality of small groups of individuals at a party. Individuals may end up not meeting new people and friends and therefore, people desire a drinking game that can be played by a plurality of players without making any one feel left out.
Board games are games that are played by moving pieces on a board. Many types of board games are known, including abstract strategy games such as Chess, race games such as Backgammon, roll-and-move games such as Monopoly, and word games such as Scrabble. For individuals who enjoy drinking especially alcoholic beverages, a board game that can incorporate drinking and allows individuals to perform different tasks based on the game rules is not readily available. The few board games providing drinking games have complex rules and cannot be played by everyone. Therefore, individuals desire a simple drinking board game that improves fun and entertainment while consuming alcoholic beverages.
A common problem with existing drinking games is the absence of instructions or options for users to perform additional fun elements like telling stories, cracking j okes, performing dares, telling truths and more. Individuals prefer a drinking game that can provide the option of fun elements in addition to drinking alcoholic beverages.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a drinking board game that is based around consuming alcohol and sharing fun stories with friends, family, and other party attendees. There is also a long-felt need in the art for a drinking game that can be played by several players simultaneously. Additionally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a drinking board game that has simple rules. Moreover, there is a long-felt need in the art for a drinking board game that is both entertaining and easy to play. Further, there is a long-felt need in the art for a drinking board game that allows players to perform different tasks while consuming drinks. Furthermore, there is a long-felt need in the art for a drinking board game that can be used at birthday parties, tailgates, campsites, social get-togethers, and much more. Finally, there is a long-felt need in the art for a board game that generates competitive feelings while providing fun and improves entertainment while consuming alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The subj ect matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a drinking board game to be played between at least a first player and a second player. The drinking board game is based around consuming alcohol, sharing fun stories, and/or conducting entertaining tasks with friends and family. The game improves fun and entertainment while consuming alcoholic beverages with others at birthday parties, tailgates, campsites, social get-togethers, and much more. The drinking board game includes a board game; a set of cards; a pair of dice; wherein the set of cards comprise about one hundred separate cards wherein each card has a task written thereon; the board game has a plurality of blocks forming a continuous path from a starting block to a finishing line or block wherein players move their game pieces from the starting block to the finishing line; and, wherein a single card, from the set of cards, is to be used by a player when a game piece of the player lands on a “Risky Venture” block of the plurality of blocks.
In this manner, the drinking board game system of the present invention accomplishes all of the forgoing objectives and provides players with a unique board game based around consuming alcohol and sharing fun stories with friends and family. The game features several custom game pieces that can be chosen and moved around the board game allowing players to perform different tasks while drinking beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). The board game improves fun and entertainment while consuming alcoholic beverages with others.

The present invention, in one exemplary embodiment, is a novel method for playing a multi-player drinking board game. The method comprising each of the players selecting a custom game piece; each of the players placing their game piece at a starting position; each of the players rolling a pair of dice; each of the players moving their game piece along a path that extends from the starting position to a finishing line wherein the path includes a plurality of blocks; each of the players performing a task associated with the block on which their game piece lands; each of the players either drink an alcoholic beverage or obtain a special card that has a daring task or “Risky Venture” written thereon when their game piece lands on a “Risky Venture” block of the path; and, the player reaching the finishing line wins the game and also optionally wins an opportunity to give a dare task to each of the other players.
Referring initially to the drawings,
The custom game pieces 108 are the playing pieces that can be selected by each player at the start of the game. The custom game pieces 108 are exemplary and can be in the form of a miniature form or replica of a liquor glass, a wine glass, a martini glass, a champagne glass, a beer glass, and many more. The playing pieces 108 are small tokens (i.e., small replicas) that are moved along the spaces 114 positioned on the board game 102. In one embodiment, the playing pieces 108 are plastic three-dimensional members. However, in alternate examples, the playing pieces 108 may be made from another material such as wood.
The pair of dice 104 includes two conventional number dice that are rolled by a player for moving a customized playing piece 108 along the spaces 114. Both of the die are similar and have numbers from “1” to “6” where each face displays a single number from “1” to “6”.
The “Risky Venture” cards 106 are especially provided to increase fun and entertainment in the game. The “Risky Venture” cards 106 are used by players when their game piece lands on a “Risky Venture” space of the board game 102. The “Risky Venture” cards 106 have various tasks written on them and a task written on a “Risky Venture” card is to be performed by a player when the game piece lands on the “Risky Venture” space. The board game 102 can be folded and can be easily stored in a storage box 118.
In some examples, the blocks 114 may include any of the following instructions or phrases, parts of the following phrases, or variations of the following instructions or phrases. Also, it should be appreciated that any additional instruction or phrase or part of a phrase can be added to any of the blocks to increase fun and entertainment of the game. In some examples, the phrases may be printed on the blocks. Alternatively, the instructions or phrases may be embossed or engraved in multiple colors.

2. “Risky Venture” (204)- When a playing piece of a player lands on “Risky Venture” block, then, a player needs to drink an alcoholic beverage from their cup or can opt for a “Risky Venture” card. When the player opts for the “Risky Venture” card, then, the player substitutes drinking with a daring task written on the selected “Risky Venture” card. Daring tasks may include “kiss the hottest player”, “give each player $20”, “tell your dirtiest sex story” and others. Multiple “Risky Venture” cards may be duplicates, for example, they may include the same “Risky Venture” instruction.
3. Move up 2 spaces (206) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then, the game piece is moved two spaces/blocks in forward direction (towards the finishing line).
4. Move down 2 spaces (208) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then, the game piece is moved two spaces/blocks in reverse direction (towards the starting block).
5. Move to next “Risky Venture” (210) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then, the game piece is moved to next “Risky Venture” block, thereby allowing the player to choose drinking beverage or use “Risky Venture” card.
6. Another player (212) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then the player can give a drinking instruction or a dare to another player.
7. Shot-tales (214) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then the player tells an interesting story related to an alcoholic beverage incident or experience.
8. Most sober player (216) - When a game piece of the present player lands on this block, then the present player needs to identify another player as the most sober player. Also, the designated most sober player may be given a prize.
9. Take a shot (218) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then the player needs to take a shot of an alcoholic beverage.
10. Drink neat (220) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then the player needs to fill the drinking cup and drink the complete beverage.
11. Do a bottoms-up (222) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then the player needs to drink the beverage in their drinking cup in one go or ‘chug the contents’ and then refills their cup.
12. Move to next safe space (224) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then, the game piece is moved to the next safe space block.
13. Dance to a song (226) - When a game piece of a player lands on this block, then, the player needs to dance to a song.
Preferably, about a hundred “Risky Venture” cards are disclosed in the disclosure, however, the number of “Risky Venture” cards can range from about 50 cards to about 120 cards. Further, in one potential embodiment, multiple “Risky Venture” cards can have duplicate daring tasks, but alternatively, each “Risky Venture” card may have a unique daring task.
In some examples, the “Risky Venture” cards may include any of the following phrases, parts of the following phrases, or variations of the following phrases. Also, it should be appreciated that any additional phrase or part of a phrase can be added to any of the “Risky Venture” cards to increase fun and entertainment of the game.
1. Tell your dirtiest sex story (302) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Tell your dirtiest sex story”, then the player has to tell the most shocking dirtiest sex story.
2. Kiss the hottest player (304) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Kiss the hottest player”, then the player may say no to drinking and may kiss the hottest player as per understanding of the player.
3. Give each player a designated amount of money (i.e., $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, et. al.) (306) -When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Give each player money”, then the player may give the designated amount of money, or an agreed to amount of money, to each of the other players.
4. Do ten pushups (308) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Do ten pushups”, then the player needs to do at least ten pushups, or an agreed to number of pushups.
5. Tell the number of individuals you have kissed (310) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Tell the number of individuals you have kissed”, then the player needs to tell the count of individuals the player has kissed recently or in their entire life.
6. Tell your crush name (312) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Tell your crush name”, then the player needs to identify their crush name.
7. Keep an ice cube in your mouth until it melts (314) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Keep an ice cube in your mouth until it melts”, then the player needs to keep an ice cube in their mouth until the ice cube melts.
8. Make a dance video and upload (316) - When the “Risky Venture” card selected by a player has “Make a dance video and upload”, then the player needs to keep a make a dance video and upload on a social media platform.
As mentioned hereinabove, the game is played between multiple players. At the start of the game, each player is assigned, or selects, a customized playing piece. The customized playing piece can be selected based on the preferred beverage of the player. To start the game, the playing pieces of the players are placed on the starting block of the board game 102. Any method may be used to determine which player plays first. During play, a player rolls a pair of dice, such that the dice display a pair of numbers. The player then moves their playing piece along the blocks. For example, the player may roll a 6 on the first die and a 2 on the second die and may then move their playing piece forward by the sum of the dice (i.e., 6+2 = 8 blocks). As stated earlier, based on the phrase written on the ‘moved to’ or ‘landed on’ block, an appropriate action is taken by the player. When the player lands on the “Risky Venture” block, the player may optionally then take one or more actions based on the daring task written on the selected “Risky Venture” card.
The game continues as the players keep moving their respective playing pieces along the blocks. A winner is determined when one player reaches the finishing line first and wins the game by having traversed all the blocks.
Optionally, in accordance with one set of game rules, the winner of the game is entitled to assign a task to one or more losers of the game. For example, the winner of the game may be entitled to give a dare to other players; or alternatively, other players may buy a drink for the winner of the game or may pay a designated amount of money to the winner of the game.
