Bodyboard

Abstract

A bodyboard has a body and a coat assembly. The coat assembly is completely mounted around the body and has a base, an elastic coat, a zipper and a cavity. The elastic coat is mounted outside the base and has an opening. The zipper is mounted on the opening in the elastic coat. The cavity is formed between the base and the elastic coat for receiving the body. Because the coat assembly has the zipper, the coat assembly could be detached from the body and changed or cleaned easily.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a bodyboard, more particular to a bodyboard that is convenient for cleaning.

2. Description of the Related Art

People have enjoyed the use of recreational devices such as bodyboards in the ocean or water. Types of conventional bodyboards comprise long-type bodyboards and short-type bodyboards. For example, a conventional bodyboard that is made of foam to form a board body, and a coat is attached to the board body. Because the coat is attached to the board body, the coat could not be taken off and cleaned. Therefore, users could not change the coat according to their hobbies. Further, when the coat is damaged, the coat is unchangeable and the whole bodyboard must be throw away.

In light of the above, the need exists to provide a bodyboard that allows to optionally change the coat of the bodyboard.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a bodyboard that is convenient to change a coat of the bodyboard.

A bodyboard in accordance with the present invention has a body and a coat assembly. The coat assembly is completely mounted around the body and has a base, an elastic coat, a zipper and a cavity. The elastic coat is mounted outside the base and has an opening. The zipper is mounted on the opening in the elastic coat. The cavity is formed between the base and the elastic coat for receiving the body.

Because the coat assembly has the zipper, the coat assembly could be changed easily. Thus, the way for changing the coat assembly is easy and convenient, therefore, the taken off coat assembly may be cleaned.

Other objectives, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, a bodyboard (1) in accordance with the present invention has a body (10), a coat assembly (20) and a holding device (30).

The body (10) has a front end (100), a rear end (101), an edge, a bottom and a mounting hole (11). The mounting hole (11) is defined in the body (10) near the front end (100). The body (10) may be made of foam, wood or any well-known material in the art.

The coat assembly (20) is completely mounted around the body (10) and has a base (21), an elastic coat (22), a zipper (23) and a cavity (24). The base (21) is smaller than the body (10) and may be made of a plastic sheet. The base (21) has a through hole (210). The through hole (210) is defined in the base (21) corresponding to the mounting hole (11) in the body (10). The elastic coat (22) is shaped as the body (10) and is mounted outside the base (21). The elastic coat (22) has a through hole (220) and an opening. The through hole (220) is defined through the elastic coat (22) corresponding to the mounting hole (11) in the body (10). In a preferred embodiment, the opening is located at a site corresponding to the edge of the body (10). The zipper (23) is mounted on the opening of the elastic coat (22). The cavity (24) is formed between the base (21) and the elastic coat (22) for receiving the body (10). When the coat assembly (20) is mounted around the body (10), the base (21) is attached to the bottom of the body (10) to make the bottom of the body smooth and prevent the bottom of the body (10) fraying.

The holding device (30) is mounted inside the mounting hole (11) and the through holes (210, 220) in the body (10) and the coat assembly (20). The holding device (30) has a connecting device and a string (33). The connecting device is used for holding the string (33) tightly on the bodyboard (1). The connecting device may comprise a threaded pin (31) and a nut (32). With reference to FIG. 4, the threaded pin (31) has an enlarged head (310) abutting with the body (10). The nut (32) is mounted inside the body (10) and has an enlarged head (320), a hollow rod, an inner thread (321) and a recess (322). The enlarged head (320) abuts with the body (10). The hollow rod is securely mounted on the enlarged head (320) and the inner thread (321) is defined inside the rod for holding the threaded pin (321). The recess (322) is defined in the enlarged head (320) and communicates with the hollow rod. The string (33) is mounted through the recess (322) in the nut (32). The threaded pin (31) is securely mounted inside the nut (32) for fixing the string (33) tightly.

Because the coat assembly (20) has the zipper (23), the coat assembly (20) could be detached from the body (10) and changed easily. With reference to FIG. 5, when the bodyboard (1) in accordance with the present invention is in use, a user can change the coat assembly (20A) by himself. The way for changing the coat assembly (20A) is easy and convenient. Additionally, the taken off coat assembly (20) can be cleaned for many times.

Claims

1. A bodyboard comprising a body having a front end,a rear end,an edge anda bottoms; anda coat assembly completely mounted around the body and having a base attached to the bottom of the body,an elastic coat shaped as the body, mounted outside the base and having an opening,a zipper mounted on the opening of the elastic coat, anda cavity formed between the base and the elastic coat for receiving the body.

2. The bodyboard as claimed in claim 1, wherein the opening in the elastic coat is located at a site corresponding to the edge of the body.

The bodyboard as claimed in claim 2, wherein the body further comprises a mounting hole defined in the body near the front end, the base of the coat assembly further comprises a through hole defined in the base and corresponding to the mounting hole in the body,the elastic coat further comprises a through hole defined through the elastic coat and corresponding to the mounting hole in the body,the bodyboard further comprises a holding device mounted inside the mounting hole in the body and the through holes in the coat assembly and havinga string, anda connecting device mounted inside the mounting hole in the body and the through holes in the coat assembly and holding the string tightly on the bodyboard.

The bodyboard as claimed in claim 3, wherein the connecting device of the holding device comprises a nut mounted inside the body and having an enlarged head abutting with the body,a hollow rod securely mounted on the enlarged head,an inner thread defined inside the rod, anda recess defined in the enlarged head and communicating with the hollow rod, anda threaded pin securely mounted inside the nut for fixing the string tightly, screwed with the inner thread in the rod and having an enlarged head abutting with the body, andthe string mounted through the recess in the nut.

The bodyboard as claimed in claim 1, wherein the body further comprises a mounting hole defined in the body near the front end, the base of the coat assembly further comprises a through hole defined in the base and corresponding to the mounting hole in the body,the elastic coat further comprises a through hole defined through the elastic coat and corresponding to the mounting hole in the body,the bodyboard further comprises a holding device mounted inside the mounting hole in the body and the through holes in the coat assembly and having a string, anda connecting device mounted inside the mounting hole in the body and the through holes in the coat assembly and holding the swing tightly on the bodyboard.

The bodyboard as claimed in claim 5, wherein the connecting device of the holding device comprises a nut mounted in side the body and having an enlarged head abutting with the body,a hollow rod securely mounted on the enlarged head,an inner thread defined inside the rod, anda recess defined in the enlarged head and communicating with the hollow rod, anda threaded pin securely mounted inside the nut for fixing the string tightly, screwed with the inner thread in the rod and havingan enlarged head abutting with the body, andthe string mounted through the recess in the nut.

7. The bodyboard as claimed in claim 1, wherein the body is made of foam.

8. The bodyboard as claimed in claim 1, wherein the body is integrally formed, wherein the coat assembly is detractably mounted around the body, wherein the base is smaller than the body and formed of a plastic sheet, and wherein the elastic coat is connected to the base.

9. The bodyboard as claimed in claim 4, wherein the body is integrally formed, wherein the coat assembly is detractably mounted around the body, wherein the base is smaller than the body and formed of a plastic sheet, and wherein the elastic coat is connected to the base.

10. The bodyboard as claimed in claim 6, wherein the body is integrally formed, wherein the coat assembly is detractably mounted around the body, wherein the base is smaller than the body and formed of a plastic sheet, and wherein the elastic coat is connected to the base.
