Claims
- 1. A factory-made bondable orthodontic appliance for shipment to a user comprising:
a wire-receiving body, said body having a bonding base for attachment of the appliance to a tooth, said bonding base including a mesh portion, and a light-cured bonding material covering said mesh portion and defining a cured layer of bonding material and a bonding material surface bondable to a tooth.
- 2. The bondable orthodontic appliance assembly of claim 1, which further comprises forming said bonding material surface with a roughened texture to enhance bonding.
- 3. A factory-made bondable molar tube for shipment to a user comprising:
a molar tube portion, a bonding base on the molar tube portion, said bonding base including a mesh portion, and a light cured bonding material covering said mesh portion defining a cured layer of bonding material and a bonding material surface for receiving a layer of light-curable bonding material for bonding the tube to a tooth.
- 4. The bondable molar tube of claim 3, which further comprises forming said bondable surface with a roughened texture to enhance bonding.
- 5. The bondable molar tube of claim 3, wherein the bonding base includes a metal foil having a mesh secured thereto.
- 6. A factory-made bondable orthodontic appliance for shipment to a user comprising:
an appliance with a bonding base having a textured face, and a light-cured bonding material covering said textured face and defining a cured layer of bonding material and a light-cured bonding material face bondable to a tooth with a like light-curable bonding material.
- 7. The bondable orthodontic appliance of claim 5, wherein the bonding material face is roughened to enhance the bond strength with a bonding material.
- 8. The bondable orthodontic appliance of claim 6, wherein said appliance and bonding base are one piece.
- 9. The bondable orthodontic appliance of claim 6, wherein said bonding base includes a metal foil having mesh secured thereto and being prefilled with said light-cured bonding material to cover said mesh and define said light-cured bonding material face.
