Claims
- 1. A bone-in meat container comprising:
- a) a bone-in fresh red meat;
- b) an oriented, heat shrinkable, thermoplastic bag containing the bone-in fresh red meat, the bag having an outer surface and an inner surface;
- c) an oriented, heat shrinkable sheet of bone guard patch film adhered to the outer surface of the oriented, heat shrinkable, thermoplastic bag, the bone guard patch film having an outer surface and an inner surface;
- d) printing indicia disposed on the inner surface of the bone guard patch film in a reverse print format; and
- e) an adhesive composition disposed between the inner surface of the bone guard patch film, and the outer surface of the oriented, heat shrinkable, thermoplastic bag, such that the reverse printing is disposed between the inner surface of the bone guard patch film and the adhesive composition.
- 2. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the oriented, heat shrinkable, thermoplastic bag is a side seal bag.
- 3. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the oriented, heat shrinkable, thermoplastic bag is an end seal bag.
- 4. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the bone guard patch film comprises a single layer film of oriented heat shrinkable thermoplastic film.
- 5. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the bone guard patch film comprises a four layer film of oriented heat shrinkable thermoplastic film.
- 6. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the bone guard patch film comprises two outer layers comprising linear low density polyethylene and two inner layers comprising ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer.
- 7. The bone-in meat container of claim 1 wherein the bone guard patch film is transparent.
