The disclosure and prior art relates to seat devices and more particularly pertains to a new seat device for securing a child in a barber chair.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a barber chair that has a seat and a backrest. A booster seat is positionable on the barber chair and a child may be seated on the booster seat for a haircut. A pair of belts is each coupled to the booster seat and the belts are matable to each other. Each of the belts is secured around the backrest on the barber chair when the booster seat is positioned on the barber chair. In this way the booster seat can be secured to the barber chair. A harness is coupled to the booster seat and the harness is secured over the child seated in the booster seat.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A pair of belts 34 is provided and each of the belts 34 is coupled to the booster seat 18. The belts 34 are matable to each other and each of the belts 34 is secured around the backrest 16 on the barber chair 12 when the booster seat 18 is positioned on the barber chair 12. In this way the belts 34 secure the booster seat 18 to the barber char. Each of the belts 34 extends away from the back side 28 of the backrest portion 22 of the booster seat 18. Additionally, each of the belts 34 has a distal end 36 with respect to the booster seat 18 and the distal end 36 of each of the belts 34 is matable to each other.
A harness 38 is coupled to the booster seat 18 and the harness 38 is secured over a child seated in the booster seat 18. The harness 38 includes a set of first straps 50 and each of the first straps 50 is coupled to the top side 26 of the backrest portion 22 of the booster seat 18. Additionally, each of the first straps 50 has a distal end 52 with respect to the booster seat 18. A buckle or other type of releasable fastener is coupled to the distal end of each of the first straps 50.
The harness 38 includes a second strap 54 that is coupled to the top side 26 of the seat portion 20 of the booster seat 18, and the second strap 54 is positioned closer to the front side of the seat portion 20 than the backrest portion 22. The second strap 54 has a distal end 56 with respect to the booster seat 18 and the distal end 56 of the second strap 54 is matable to the distal end 52 of each of the first straps 50. A buckle engagement of other type of mechanical fastener is coupled to the distal end of the second strap 54 for releasably engaging the buckle. The harness 38 further includes a pair of lateral straps 58 that is each coupled between a respective one of the first straps 50 and an intersection between the seat portion 20 and a respective one of the armrests 24.
In use, the booster seat 18 is positioned on the barber chair 12 when a child needs a haircut. The belts 34 are secured around the backrest 16 of the barber chair 12 and the belts 34 are mated together to retain the booster seat 18 on the barber chair 12. The child is seat 14ed on the booster seat 18 and the harness 38 is secured over the child. In this way the child is not only elevated in the barber chair 12, but the child is additionally restrained in the barber chair 12. Thus, a barber can cut the child's hair when the child falls asleep or if the child cannot sit still during the hair cut.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
