Claims
- 1. A borate phosphor represented by the formula aM.sup.II O.B.sub.2 O.sub.3 :dCe,eTb wherein M.sup.II is at least one divalent metal selected from the group consisting of magnesium, beryllium, zinc, cadmium, calcium, strontium and barium; and a, d and e are numbers satisfying the conditions of 0<a.ltoreq.2.0, 0<d.ltoreq.0.6 and 0<e.ltoreq.0.6, respectively.
- 2. A borate phosphor as defined in claim 1 wherein said a is a number satisfying the conditions of 0.07.ltoreq.a.ltoreq.1.5.
- 3. A borate phosphor as defined in claim 1 wherein said d and e are numbers satisfying the conditions of 0.005.ltoreq.d.ltoreq.0.3 and 0.0001.ltoreq.e.ltoreq.0.3, respectively.
