Claims
- 1. A method of bleeding a brake system on a vehicle having a master cylinder and a plurality of bleeder valves, the method comprising:
opening a first bleeder valve selected from said plurality while leaving the remaining bleeder valves of said plurality closed; pressurizing the master cylinder with new brake fluid while simultaneously vacuuming old fluid from said first bleeder valve; determining a time when a sufficient amount of old fluid has been drained from said first bleeder valve; and closing said first bleeder valve at or immediately thereafter said time.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said time is when new fluid is seen coming out of said first bleeder valve.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein said old brake fluid is vacuumed using a clear wand and said new fluid may be seen coming out of said first valve through said wand.
- 4. The method of claim 1 including a preliminary step of removing the old fluid from the master cylinder.
- 5. The method of claim 1 including the additional step of repeating all of the steps of claim 1 for each of said remaining bleeder valves one at a time.
- 6. The method of claim 5 including the additional step of:
selecting as said first bleeder valve the one furthest from the master cylinder and ending with the bleeder valve closest to the master cylinder.
