Claims
- 1. A tool for installation or removal of a brake spring of a drum brake assembly comprising, in combination:
- a handle having a centerline axis and opposite ends;
- a shaft extending axially along the centerline axis from one end of the handle, and terminating with a distal end, said shaft having a threaded distal end; and
- a cylindrical collar having a centerline, hollow, threaded throughbore, said collar throughbore fitted over the distal end and threadably adjustably mounted on the distal end of the shaft, said collar defining a centerline axis coincident with the axis of the shaft, said collar including a lateral, inclined slot for receipt of a wire, said slot extending into the throughbore and partially through the collar at least to the axis and inclined about 45.degree. to the axis.
- 2. The tool of claim 1 wherein the slot is positioned at one end of the collar and the collar is internally threaded at the opposite end, whereby the collar may be rotated on the shaft to engage the shaft tightly against a wire in the slot to lock the wire in the slot.
