Claims
- 1. A cutting tool, comprising:
- a polycrystalline diamond film cutter element joined to a cemented tungsten carbide substrate by means of a first braze to form an assembly piece, the first braze comprising between 0.5 and 10 weight percent vanadium and contains at least one metal selected form the group consisting of gold and nickel, and
- a larger workpiece joined to said assembly piece by means of a second braze, the second braze having a lower melting temperature than the first braze.
- 2. The cutting tool of claim 1, wherein the larger workpiece is also of tungsten carbide.
