Claims
- 1. A web of fibrous material for use in packaging surgical elements, said web comprising a sheet of spun-bonded polyolefin fibers bonded together, and a release agent applied on said sheet in at least two longitudinal strips extending the length of said sheet, said strips beginning at a first longitudinal edge of said sheet and being spaced at regular identical intervals across said sheet, said strips ending at a second longitudinal edge of said sheet.
- 2. A web according to claim 1 wherein said release agent is applied on said sheet in a plurality of strips such that said strips have a predetermined space therebetween.
- 3. A web according to claim 1, wherein said release agent comprises an adhesive.
- 4. A web of fibrous material for use in packaging surgical elements, comprising a sheet of bonded fibrous material selected from the group consisting of spun-bonded polyolefin fibers, cardboard, fiberboard or paper, said sheet having at least two continuous strips of release agent applied thereon spatially positioned to define sides of individual packages.
- 5. A web according to claim 4 wherein said sheet of bonded fibrous material comprises spun-bonded polyolefin fibers bonded together.
- 6. A web according to claim 4 wherein said sheet of bonded fibrous material comprises cardboard.
- 7. A web according to claim 4 wherein said sheet of bonded fibrous material comprises paperboard.
- 8. A web according to claim 4 wherein said release agent is applied in a plurality of strips on said sheet such that a plurality of individual packages are defined.
- 9. A web according to claim 4 wherein said release agent comprises an adhesive.
- 10. A web according to claim 4 wherein said release agent comprises a water based adhesive.
- 11. A web according to claim 4 wherein said release agent provides for a pull force to separate a device adhered thereto which is less than the force required to separate the fibers from themselves.
- 12. A web according to claim 11 wherein said pull force does not exceed about 1 lb/inch.
