Claims
- 1. A bristle sub-assembly comprising:
a base string; at least one row of bristles, the bristles having proximal ends and distal ends, and being connected to the base string at the proximal ends, the distal ends having tapered portions to provide a reduced stiffness for the bristles.
- 2. A bristle sub-assembly according to claim 1, wherein the tapered portions extend from the distal ends approximately up to 33% of the length of the bristles.
- 3. A bristle sub-assembly according to claim 1, wherein the tapered portions reduce the thickness of the bristles by up to approximately 10% of their original thickness at the distal ends.
