Claims
- 1. In combination:
- a series of floor rail sections placed end-to-end at meeting ends defining a series of floor rail joints;
- a series of upright wall panels seated on respective of said rail sections in side-by-side relation defining a series of vertical panel joints directly above said floor rail joints;
- interfitting positioning means between said panels and floor rail sections for preventing motion of the lower ends of said panels longitudinally of said floor rail sections without restricting vertical motion of said panels; and
- a series of hold-down means gripping said panels at said panel joints at locations spaced above said rail sections and interfitting with said rail sections in adjoining keeper slots therealong located at opposite sides of each said floor rail joint.
- 2. The combination according to claim 1 in which said meeting ends of the floor rail sections are recessed;
- and gasket means seated in each recess.
- 3. The combination according to claim 1 in which said rail sections have transverse slots adjacent said meeting ends thereof, and generally rectangular clips fitting into said transverse slots and bridging said rail joints for initially holding said rail sections in longitudinal alignment.
- 4. A floor rail comprising:
- two like elongated rail sections placed end-to-end, each rail section having a bottom wall, side walls, end walls and a top wall, said end walls each having a laterally centered semicylindrical recess whereby the adjoining ends of said rail sections jointly present a cylindrical bore, and each rail section having a transverse slot adjacent the respective semicylindrical recess;
- a clip extending on opposite sides of said bore and anchored in the adjacent said transverse slots for keeping said rail sections in end-to-end relation;
- a resilient sealing cup in said bore extending to the bottom thereof; and
- a plug in said cup and pressing said cup against said adjoining ends of the rail within said recess.
- 5. A floor rail comprising:
- two like elongated rail sections placed end-to-end, each rail section having a bottom wall, side walls, end walls and a top wall, said end walls each having a laterally centered semicylindrical recess whereby the adjoining ends of said rail sections jointly present a cylindrical bore;
- one of the side walls of each rail section having a slot adjacent said bore for receiving an anchoring foot;
- means keeping said rail sections in end-to-end relation;
- a resilient sealing cup in said bore extending to the bottom thereof; and
- a plug in said cup pressing said cup against said adjoining ends of the rail within said recess.
- 6. A floor section according to claim 5 in which said rail sections each have a central portion having a different height than the remainder of the rail section.
- 7. A floor rail assembly comprising:
- a pair of floor rail sections arranged end-to-end and each having a bottom wall, longitudinal side walls, end walls and a top wall;
- the top wall of each rail section having a respective transverse slot adjacent each of its said end walls, and having a respective pair of longitudinal slots extending from the ends of said transverse slots to the adjacent one of said end walls; and
- a generally rectangular clip lodged in the longitudinal slots and transverse slots at the meeting end portions of said rail sections for holding the rail sections end-to-end.
- 8. A floor rail section according to claim 7 in which each end of said rail sections has a generally semicylindrical recess for the full height thereof.
- 9. A floor rail assembly according to claim 7 in which each of said rail sections has an exposed respective longitudinal keeper slot extending from each of said end walls along one of said side walls for a minor part of the length of the rail section for receiving a hold-down element for a wall panel resting on the rail section.
- 10. A floor assembly according to claim 9 in which hold-down member each have a hook element fitting into adjoining longitudinal keeper slots presented by said rail sections.
