Claims
- 1. A building panel comprising:
- a first layer comprising a mixture of a hydrated binder and porous particles of a reinforcing additive capable of taking up, storing and releasing water;
- a second layer comprising a reinforcing mat embedded in a hydrated binder of the same type as said first layer, said second layer being substantially without porous reinforcing additive; and
- a transition layer therebetween containing hydrated binder and porous reinforcing additive of the same types, respectively, as said first layer, said transition layer forming a gradual and continuous transition in composition between said first layer containing porous reinforcing additive and said second layer substantially without porous reinforcing additive, said transition layer being formed by migration of water between one of said first and second layers poured with an excess of water for hydrating said binder and the other of said first and second layers poured with a deficiency of water for hydrating said binder;
- said first layer being thicker than said second layer and said transition layer being thinner than said second layer.
- 2. Building panel according to claim 1, wherein said binder comprises gypsum.
- 3. Building panel according to claim 1, wherein the water releasing capacity of said porous reinforcing additive contained in said first layer and in said intermediate layer is at least sufficient to hydrate the binder of said first layer.
- 4. Building panel according to claim 2, wherein said first layer has a weight ratio of said porous reinforcing additive to gypsum of between 0.185:1 and 0.2:1, and a weight ratio of water to gypsum of between about 0.16:1 and 0.6:1.
- 5. Building panel according to claim 4, wherein the weight ratio of water to gypsum is 0.35.
- 6. Building panel according to claim 1, which is a multilayer panel comprising three of said first layers, four of said second layers comprising two edge layers and two intermediate layers, and a transition layer between each said first layer and second layer.
- 7. A building panel according to claim 1, wherein said second layer is a facing layer.
- 8. Building panel according to claim 7, wherein the reinforcing mat (20) in the facing layer (12) is situated in a zone close to a face.
- 9. Building panel according to claim 8, wherein the reinforcing mat (20) is situated directly in the face of the facing layer (12).
- 10. Building panel according to claim 1 or 7, wherein reinforcing mat (20) comprises a fibre mat.
- 11. Building panel according to claim 10, wherein said mat comprises a woven glass fibre or glass fibre fleece material.
- 12. Building panel according to claim 1 or 7, wherein the binder (16) is an inorganic binder, and the reinforcing additive (18) of the first layer comprises a porous inorganic or organic material, which is suitable for taking up, storing and relinquishing water.
- 13. Building panel according to claim 12, wherein the binder comprises gypsum.
- 14. Building panel according to claim 12, wherein the reinforcing material is selected from the group consisting of wood chips, paper chips, wood-fibre, wood-fibre granular material and bark particles.
- 15. Building panel according to claim 1 or 7, wherein the binder comprises a mixture of sulfatic, lime-giving, and pozzolanic substances, which comprises 50 to 90 weight % calcium sulphate, 3 to 25 weight % lime giving substances and 5 to 35 weight % active alumino-silicate pozzolanic material rich in aluminate.
- 16. Building panel according to claim 15, wherein the mixture ratio of calcium sulphate, lime-giving substances and active alumino-sulfate pozzolanic materials rich in aluminate is selected such that the binder mixture is spatially constant in the hardening phase, whereby the formation of ettringite is restricted to the solution phase.
