Abstract
A pair of underwear for males, comprising a pair of form-fitting male underwear extending from approximately the waistline to the upper thighs, with an opening for the waist and two openings for the thighs. Two flaps positioned at the front mid-line of the waistline, have a single button-hole closure at the waistline. The two flaps in a closed positioned formed by the fastened single-hole closure overlap each other with a right flap including a button hole, and the left flap including a button, with the right flap overlapping the left flap.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to the field of men's underwear, more particularly to a style of underwear known as boxer briefs and/or midway briefs having an athletic fit.


2. Description of Related Art

Men's underwear can be especially vexing, prone to binding and difficult for many men to manipulate for voiding. Traditional American underwear styles for men fell into two broad categories: 1) briefs and 2) boxer. In recent years, other styles have gained popularity, including boxer briefs and midway briefs. Boxer and midway briefs can be especially problematic, because they generally have an athletic fit close to the skin and can become damp and clammy on hot days, difficult to manipulate for access to void.


Despite drawbacks, boxer briefs and midway briefs are gaining in popularity. Boxer briefs provide more room for male genitals than traditional briefs, providing enhanced comfort. Such underwear styles can help wick perspiration away more efficiently and keeps slacks drier and can overall offer better comfort, especially in cold weather.


Based on the foregoing, there is a need in the art an improved design for boxer briefs, which will facilitate increased ease of manipulation to improve access for going to the rest room.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A pair of underwear for males, comprising a pair of form-fitting male underwear extending from approximately the waistline to the upper thighs, with an opening for the waist and two openings for the thighs. Two flaps positioned at the front mid-line of the waistline, have a single button-hole closure at the waistline. The two flaps in a closed positioned formed by the fastened single-hole closure overlap each other with a right flap including a button hole, and the left flap including a button, with the right flap overlapping the left flap.


The underwear comprises boxer briefs or midway briefs.


The underwear comprises a fiber blend of cotton and spandex.


The underwear comprises the right flap and the left flap extending downward from the waist opening approximately between 2½″ and 5″.


The underwear comprises the thigh openings include an elastic hem.


Advantages:

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Preferred embodiments of the present invention and their advantages may be understood by referring to FIGS. 1-2, wherein like reference numerals refer to like elements.

The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to embodiments thereof as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.



FIG. 1 depicts a pair of men's athletic-fitting boxer briefs according to an embodiment of the invention. The boxer brief 100 include a brief body 105 typically constructed from a fiber blend such as cotton and spandex. The boxer brief 100 design provides form-fitting coverage for the midsection from the approximate waistline to the upper thighs. An elastic waistband 110 around the upper part of the brief body 105 can be used to securely hold up the briefs. There can also be an elastic hem sewn around the bottom end openings of the two thigh portion 111.


In an embodiment, the elastic waistband 110 can include a button and button-hole closure 115 positioned approximately at the mid-line of the abdomen. A left flap 120 (as viewed from the front) includes the button of the button-hole closure 115. 115. A right flap 125 includes the hole of the button-role closure 115. In a closed configuration, the right flap 125 overlaps the left flap 120.



FIG. 2 shows how the boxer briefs open at the flaps 120 and 125 in FIG. 1 according to an embodiment of the invention. The boxer brief 200 include a brief body 205 providing form-fitting coverage for the midsection from the waist to the thighs. Elastic waistband 210 around the upper part of the brief body 205 can securely hold up the brief 200. There can also be an elastic hem sewn around the bottom end openings of the two thigh portion 211.


In an embodiment, the elastic waistband 210 can include a button and button-hole closure 215 positioned approximately at the mid-line of the abdomen. A left flap 220 (as viewed from the front) can include the button of the button-hole closure 215 and as depicted can open to the left. A right flap 225 can include the hole of the button-role closure 215 and can open to the right. The right flap 225 is configured to overlap the left flap 220 in a closed configuration with the button-hole closure 215 buttoned closed. The right flap 225 and left flap 220 can extend downward from the waistband 210 from between about 2½″ and 5″.


The invention has been described herein using specific embodiments for the purposes of illustration only. It will be readily apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art, however, that the principles of the invention can be embodied in other ways. Therefore, the invention should not be regarded as being limited in scope to the specific embodiments disclosed herein, but instead as being fully commensurate in scope with the following claims.

Claims
  • 1. A pair of underwear for males, comprising: a pair of form-fitting male underwear extending from approximately the waistline to the upper thighs, with an opening for the waist and two openings for the thighs;two flaps positioned at the front mid-line of the waistline, having a single button-hole closure at the waistline;wherein the two flaps in a closed position formed by the fastened single-hole closure overlap each other with a right flap including a button hole and the left flap including a button, the right flap overlapping the left flap.
  • 2. The underwear of claim 1, wherein the underwear comprises boxer briefs or midway briefs.
  • 3. The underwear of claim 1, wherein the underwear comprises a fiber blend of cotton and spandex.
  • 4. The underwear of claim 1, wherein the right flap and the left flap extends downward from the waist opening approximately between 2½″ and 5″.
  • 5. The underwear of claim 1, wherein the thigh openings include an elastic hem.
