Claims
- 1. A zoom camera comprising:
- a power source for powering Said camera;
- means for selectively turning said power source on and off;
- ranging means;
- drive means for driving a zoom lens to a photographing ready position responsive to said power source being turned on and for driving said zoom lens between a tele and a wide portion in response to selectively operating a tele switch and a wide switch;
- detection means for detecting a zoom position;
- storage means for storing zoom lens driving direction responsive to said zoom lens being moved to at least at least said photographic ready position;
- said storage means for storing a zoom direction in response to an operation of said tele switch or said wide switch; and
- arithmetic means for computing a drive amount of a focusing lens from outputs obtained from said ranging means, said zoom position and said zoom direction.
- 2. A zoom camera according to claim 1, wherein said zoom direction is stored at least in a photographic ready position.
- 3. A zoom camera according to claim 1, wherein said zoom direction stored is a direction which was changed at a previous zoom operation.
- 4. A camera comprising:
- ranging means for measuring a distance to an object;
- a photographic optical system with a changeable focal distance in which a focal point is adjusted on the basis of an output of said ranging means, said optical system being movable from a retraction position to a photographic ready position responsive to operation of a power on switch;
- focal distance detection means for detecting a focal distance of said photographic optical system;
- first storage means for storing a direction where a focal distance of said photographic optical system is changed when moved at least to a photographic ready position;
- second storage means for storing an adjustment amount of a focal point according to a selected focal distance of said photographic optical system and a direction of a change in a focal distance thereof; and
- control means for adjusting a focal point of said photographic optical system by using values stored in said second storage means on the basis of an output of said focal distance detection means and values stored in said first storage means.
- 5. A camera according to claim 4, wherein said second storage means comprises an EEPROM for storing an adjustment amount of a focal point in each of the states where said focal distance of said photographic optical system is changed toward a wide side from a tele side, and where said focal distance is changed toward the tele side from the wide side.
- 6. A camera according to claim 4, wherein a focal distance changed direction stored by said first storage means is a direction where a focal distance was changed previously.
- 7. A zoom camera according to claim 4 further comprising:
- a tele zoom switch for zooming in a direction from a wide angle position to tele photo position;
- a wide zooming switch for zooming in a direction from the telephoto position to the wide angle position;
- said storage means storing an output of the focal distance detection means responsive to operation of one of said zoom switches;
- said control means driving the photography optical system in a direction according to detection of the zoom switch which has been operated; and
- said first storage means storing a value representing the operated zoom switch only when a previous stored value represents a direction different from the operated zoom switch.
- 8. A zoom camera according to claim 4 wherein, responsive to a driving operation of the power switch, said control means changes a direction value stored in said first storage means when an output of said focal distance detection means is changed from an output of the focal distance detection means detected immediately after completion of a zooming operation and a direction due to a difference between the detected outputs of the focal distance detecting means is different from a direction value stored in the first storage means.
- 9. A camera according to claim 4 wherein, responsive to a momentary closing of a zoom switch, said control means operates the driving means for a predetermined interval when a direction value stored in said first storage means and a direction selected by the closed zoom switch are different and wherein the first storage means changes a stored direction value when a direction value in said first storage means and a direction selected by the closed zoom switch are the same.
- 10. A camera according to claim 9 wherein said first storage means changes a stored direction value to the direction said photograph optical means is driven during said predetermined time interval.
- 11. A camera according to claim 4 wherein said control means operates said driving means to drive said driving means a predetermined interval to move the photography optical means toward a wide angle position when the photograph optical system is in a telephoto position and the focal distance detection means detects movement of the photograph optical system due to an external force.
- 12. A camera according to claim 4 wherein said control means operates said driving means to drive said driving means a predetermined interval to move the photography optical means toward a telephoto position when the photograph optical system is in a wide angle position and the focal distance detection means detects movement of the photograph optical system due to an external force.
- 13. A camera comprising:
- ranging means for measuring a distance to an object;
- a photographic optical system with a changeable focal distance in which a focal point is adjusted on the basis of an output of said ranging means, said optical system being movable from a retraction position to a photographic ready position responsive to operation of a power on switch;
- focal distance detection means for detecting a focal distance of said photographic optical system;
- first storage means for storing at least in a photographic ready position whether a focal distance of said photographic optical system was changed in a first direction or in a second direction;
- second storage means for storing an adjustment amount of a focal point for cases in which a selected focal distance is changed in said first direction and in which a selected focal distance is changed in said second direction; and
- control means for adjusting a focal point of said photographic optical system by using values stored in said second storage means based on an output of said ranging focal distance detection means and data stored in said first storage means.
- 14. A camera according to claim 13, wherein a distance stored by said first storage means is a direction where a focal distance was changed previously.
- 15. A camera comprising:
- ranging means for measuring a distance to an object;
- a photographic optical system with a changeable focal distance in which a focal point is adjusted based on an output of said ranging means, said optical system being movable from a retraction position to a photographic ready position responsive to operation of a power on switch;
- focal distance detection means for detecting a focal distance of said photographic optical system;
- first storage means for storing at least in a photographic ready position whether a focal distance of said photographic optical system was changed in a first direction or in a second direction;
- second storage means for storing an adjustment amount of a focal point for each one of two cases in which a selected focal distance is changed in said first direction and in which a selected focal distance is changed in said second direction; and
- control means for adjusting a focal point of said photographic optical system by using values stored in said second storage means based on an output of said ranging focal distance detection means and data stored in said first storage means.
- 16. A camera according to claim 15, wherein a distance stored by said first storage means is a direction where a focal distance was changed previously.
- 17. A zoom camera comprising:
- ranging means for measuring a distance to an object, said optical system being movable from a retraction position to a photographic ready position responsive to operation of a power on switch;
- driving means for driving an optical system in response to operating means to change a focal distance thereof;
- focal distance detection means for detecting said focal distance;
- storage means for storing a direction where a focal distance is changed at least in a photographic ready position; and
- arithmetic means for computing a drive amount of a focusing lens from a result obtained from said ranging means, said focal distance and a direction of change in said focal distance.
