Claims
- 1. A camera in which can be inserted a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and an information recording part capable of recording information therein, comprising:
- a film transporting device which electrically performs a first transporting operation to transport said film out of said container in order to bring an unexposed frame of film to an exposure position, and which electrically performs a second transporting operation to return to said container said film transported out of said container by said first transporting operation;
- said film transporting device being operative to perform the respective transporting operations only when said film unit is maintained at a predetermined inserted position;
- an information recording portion which records information in said information recording part if said film has unexposed frames when second transporting operation is performed;
- an information detecting portion to detect said information from said information recording part when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera; and a device to allow the re-inserted film unit to be maintained at said predetermined position depending upon whether said information detection portion detects said information recorded at said information recording part.
- 2. A camera according to claim 1, wherein said information recording part is supported by said container.
- 3. A camera according to claim 2, further comprising a cover to be opened and to be closed and locked, for the loading of said film unit, said cover being prevented from assuming a locked state when said information detecting portion does not detect said information from said information recording part when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera.
- 4. A camera in which can be inserted a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and an information recording part capable of recording information therein, comprising:
- a film transporting device which electrically a first transporting operation to transport said film out of said container in order to bring an unexposed frame of film to an exposure position, and which electrically performs a second transporting operation to return to said container said film transported out of said container by said first transporting operation;
- said film transporting device being operative to perform the respective transporting operations only when said film unit is positioned at a predetermined inserted position;
- an information recording portion which records information in said information recording part if said film has no unexposed frame when said second transporting operation is performed;
- an information detecting portion to detect said information from said information recording part when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera; and
- a prevention portion to prevent said film unit from being positioned at said predetermined position when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera and said information detecting portion detects said information recorded at said information recording part.
- 5. A camera according to claim 4, wherein said information recording part is supported by said container.
- 6. A camera according to claim 4, further comprising a cover to be opened and to be closed and locked, for the loading of said film unit, said cover being prevented from assuming a locked state when said information detecting portion detects said information when said film unit is reinserted in said camera.
- 7. A device capable of loading a cartridge in a predetermined position, comprising:
- a detector which detects a characteristic of the cartridge; and
- a controller which is electrically connected to the detector, and which controls loading of said cartridge in said predetermined position depending upon a result detected by said detector.
- 8. A device according to claim 7, wherein said cartridge contains film that can be fed outside said cartridge, said device being operable to subject film fed outside said cartridge to light.
- 9. A device according to claim 8, and which is constituted by a camera which subject film fed outside said cartridge to light in order to make an exposure.
- 10. A device according to claim 7, wherein said detector detects a use state of said cartridge and said controller prohibits maintaining said cartridge in said predetermined position when use of said cartridge is detected by said detector.
- 11. A device according to claim 7, wherein said detector magnetically detects the characteristic of said cartridge.
- 12. A device according to claim 7, wherein said cartridge includes a changeable-state information part, and said detector detects the state of said information part.
- 13. A device according to claim 12, wherein said cartridge includes a container, and said information part is supported by said container.
- 14. A device capable of loading, in a predetermined position, a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and a changeable-state information part, comprising:
- a detector which detects the state of said information part for discriminating a characteristic of said film unit; and
- a controller which is electrically connected to said detector, and which controls loading of said film unit in said predetermined position depending upon the state detected by said detector.
- 15. A device according to claim 14, wherein said device subjects film fed outside said container to light.
- 16. A device according to claim 15, and which is constituted by a camera which subjects film fed outside said container to light in order to make an exposure.
- 17. A device according to claim 14, wherein said information part is supported by said container.
- 18. A device according to claim 14, wherein the state of said information part indicates whether a prevention of re-exposure of said film should be performed, and said controller is responsive to said detector to prohibit maintaining said film unit in said predetermined position when the state of said information part indicates that the prevention of re-exposure of said film should be performed.
- 19. A device according to claim 14, wherein the state of said information part indicates a use state of said film, and said controller controls loading of said film unit in said predetermined position according to the use state of said film.
- 20. A device according to claim 19, wherein said controller allows said film unit to be maintained in said predetermined position, when the state of said information part detected by said detector indicates a use state in which there is an unexposed frame of said film.
- 21. A device according to claim 19, wherein said controller prohibits maintaining said film unit in said predetermined position, when the state of said information part detected by said detector indicates a use state in which all phototaking frames of said film are exposed.
- 22. A device according to claim 14, wherein said detector performs a detection operation when said film unit is being loaded.
- 23. A device according to claim 14, wherein said detector magnetically detects the state of said information part.
- 24. A method of operating a camera in which can be inserted a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and an information recording part capable of recording information therein, the camera including a film transporting device which electrically performs a first transporting operation to transport said film out of said container in order to bring an unexposed frame of film to an exposure position, and which electrically performs a second transporting operation to return to said container said film transported out of said container by said first transporting operation, said method comprising:
- enabling said film transporting device to perform the respective transporting operations only when said film unit is maintained at a predetermined inserted position;
- recording information in said information recording part if said film has unexposed frames when second transporting operation is performed;
- detecting whether said information is present in said information recording part when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera after having been removed from said camera; and
- allowing the re-inserted film unit to be maintained at said predetermined position depending upon the result of said detecting.
- 25. A method according to claim 24, wherein said information recording part is supported by said container.
- 26. A method according to claim 25, wherein said camera includes a cover to be opened and to be closed and locked, for the loading of said film unit, said method further comprising preventing said cover from assuming a locked state when it is detected that said information is not present in said information recording part.
- 27. A method of operating a camera in which can be inserted a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and an information recording part capable of recording information therein, said camera including a film transporting device which electrically performs a first transporting operation to transport said film out of said container in order to bring an unexposed frame of film to an exposure position, and which electrically performs a second transporting operation to return to said container said film transported out of said container by said first transporting operation, said method comprising:
- enabling said film transporting device to perform the respective transporting operations only when said film unit is positioned at a predetermined inserted position;
- recording information in said information recording part if said film has no unexposed frame when said second transporting operation is performed;
- detecting whether said information is present in said information recording part when said film unit is re-inserted into said camera after having been removed from said camera; and
- preventing said film unit from being positioned at said predetermined position when it is detected that said information is present in said information recording part.
- 28. A method according to claim 27, wherein said information recording part is supported by said container.
- 29. A method according to claim 27, wherein said camera includes a cover to be opened and to be closed and locked, for the loading of said film unit, said method further comprising preventing said cover from assuming a locked state when it is detected that said information is present in said information recording part.
- 30. A method of operating a device capable of loading a cartridge in a predetermined position, said method comprising:
- automatically detecting a characteristic of the cartridge; and
- controlling loading of said cartridge in said predetermined position depending upon a result of said detecting.
- 31. A method according to claim 30, wherein said cartridge includes film that can be fed outside said cartridge, said device being operable to subject film fed outside said cartridge to light.
- 32. A method according to claim 31, wherein said device is constituted by a camera which subjects film fed outside said cartridge to light in order to make an exposure.
- 33. A method according to claim 30, wherein said characteristic indicates a use state of said cartridge and said controlling includes prohibiting said cartridge from being maintained in said predetermined position when said characteristic indicates that said cartridge is used.
- 34. A method according to claim 30, wherein said characteristic is detected magnetically.
- 35. A method according to claim 30, wherein said cartridge includes a changeable-state information part, and said uncharacteristic is the state of said information part.
- 36. A method according to claim 35, wherein said cartridge includes a container, and said information part is supported by said container.
- 37. A method of operating a device capable of loading, in a predetermined position, a film unit having a film, a container for accommodating said film and a changeable-state information part, said method comprising:
- automatically detecting the state of said information part to discriminate a characteristic of said film unit; and
- controlling loading of said film unit in said predetermined position depending upon the result of said detecting.
- 38. A method according to claim 37, wherein said device subjects film fed outside said container to light.
- 39. A method according to claim 38, wherein said device is constituted by a camera which subjects film fed outside said container to light in order to make an exposure.
- 40. A method according to claim 37, wherein said information recording part is supported by said container.
- 41. A method according to claim 37, wherein the state of said information part indicates whether a prevention of re-exposure of said film should be performed, and said controlling includes preventing said film unit from being maintained in said predetermined position when the detected state of said information part indicates that the prevention of re-exposure of said film should be performed.
- 42. A method according to claim 37, wherein the state of said information part indicates a use state of said film, and said controlling is performed according to the use state of said film.
- 43. A method according to claim 42, wherein said controlling includes allowing said film unit to be maintained in said predetermined position when the detected state of said information part indicates a use state in which there is an unexposed frame of said film.
- 44. A method according to claim 42, wherein said controlling includes prohibiting said film unit from being maintained in said predetermined position when the detected state of said information part indicates a use state in which all phototaking frames of said film are exposed.
- 45. A method according to claim 37, wherein said detecting is performed when said film unit is being loaded.
- 46. A method according to claim 37, wherein the state of said information part is detected magnetically.
