A portable chair, or camp chair, typically provides portable seating in a minimal form factor. A camp chair may expand and contract in order to collapse for storage and transport. Generally, a camp chair comprises a frame with permanently attached fabric that serves as a seat and back of the chair, and often the frame will include two arm rests as well.
Examples of this disclosure provide a camp chair having a removably attached blanket. In some examples, a fastening system may be implemented along a portion of the seat material of the camp chair to adjoin a removable blanket to the chair. The removable blanket may be stored within an enclosure implemented within the seat material or in a separate pouch affixed to the chair in some examples.
Corresponding reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the drawings.
Examples of the disclosure provide a customizable camp chair with blanket attachment that provides interchangeable options for attaching various blankets and accessories to a portable chair, or camp chair. In one example, the customizable camp chair has a fastening system for fastening a blanket or other accessory to the chair. The camp chair with blanket provides options for adding comfort, warmth, and weather shielding to a portable chair. In some examples, the blanket or accessory fastens along a side of the portable chair and may be unrolled or placed over a person seated in the chair. The removable blanket may be removed for cleaning and/or storage.
In other examples, the removable blanket attachment may provide an alternate or interchangeable appearance and/or functionality for the portable chair. The blanket or material attachment may serve to provide warmth, shield from moisture, act as a barrier to insects, provide sun protection, or any other various function.
Referring to
Fastening system 108 may be any suitable fastener for temporarily or removably attaching a blanket or other material or accessory to chair 100. For example, without limitation, fastening system 108 may include a zipper, Velcro, snaps, buttons, or any other suitable fastener. A blanket or other material may have a corresponding fastening system implemented along an edge of the material. When the fastening system of the chair and the corresponding fastening system of the blanket or material are coupled together, the fastening systems hold the blanket or material in place relative to the chair until unfastened. In the example of a zipper, one half of the zipper mechanism may be disposed along a portion of the seat material of chair 100, while the other half of the zipper mechanism is disposed along an edge of a blanket or other material, in order to connect the blanket to the chair when the zipper is fastened.
In other examples, the seat material of the chair may have a slit or slot or other access point or opening to accommodate internal storage of and access to an accessory.
The blanket or material configured for attachment may be comprised of any suitable material, having any number of colors, patterns, textures, and designs. The material may be, for example, without limitation, brushed fleece, muslin, cotton, polyester, microfiber, plastic, mesh, netting, or any other suitable type of material. For example, the material may be configured with an ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) to provide protection from sun exposure. In other examples, the material may be comprised of a waterproof, water repellent, or water-resistant material to shield a user from moisture.
The interchangeable nature of the detachable blanket and fastening system of the portable chair allows for one chair to be configured for different settings and environments by switching out the accessory attachment.
As an example, a blanket may be detached from the fastening system and stowed in the internal housing of the seat material of the portable chair. In another example, the fastening system may be implemented within a portion of the internal housing, affixing the accessory to the chair at an internal location relative to the seat material of the chair while providing access to the accessory through the opening of the internal housing.
The internal housing may be formed by having a material of the seat cover configured to provide a sealable enclosure, with access into the interior portion of the enclosure when the sealable portion is open.
In some examples, when out camping or at a sporting event, a user has options to keep warm or dry in any type of weather or environment by using the portable chair with assessor attachments. In the example of a blanket, the storage compartment may be unzipped or opened, and the blanket unrolled or unfolded from storage for use. If the blanket requires cleaning, it can be detached from the fastening system. When not in use, the blanket can be rolled or folded back into the storage compartment.
In some examples, the storage compartment is embedded in the seat of the chair itself. In other examples, the storage compai iment may be separate from the seat material of the chair, such as a pouch on the side of the chair.
Alternatively, or in addition to the other examples described herein, examples include any combination of the following:
In addition to interchangeable functionality provided by the removably attached blanket, such as due to the nature of the material used, customizable aesthetics may also be realized. Interchangeable blanket attachments may provide for different patterns or themes, such as corresponding to different seasons, holidays, teams, affiliations, and the like.
